The Cisco NXK-MEM-16GB= is a genuine Cisco 16GB DRAM DIMM sold as a spare, used to upgrade the system memory of Cisco Nexus 9300 switches that ship with 16GB base memory, such as the N9K-C93108TC-FX3P, N9K-C93180YC-FX3 and N9K-C9364C-GX.
Cisco's Nexus 9000 memory-upgrade guide lists the 16GB DIMM as spare PID NXK-MEM-16GB and shows a 16GB upgrade for those 16GB-base models. The DIMM is installed alongside the memory already in the switch. Extra DRAM gives NX-OS more headroom for larger routing and ACL tables, telemetry, containers and third-party applications running on the switch.
Before you order: Each Nexus model takes a specific upgrade size: FX2 models (93240YC-FX2, 93360YC-FX2, 93216TC-FX2) use an 8GB DIMM, and several FX3, GX2 and H models use 32GB.
