Cisco Catalyst 9300 24-Port Gigabit UPOE Switch, Network Essentials
24x Gigabit UPOE830 W PoE budgetModular uplinksStackWise-480
The Cisco Catalyst 9300 C9300-24U-E is a stackable 24-port Gigabit switch with Cisco UPOE on every port (up to 60 W each), an 830 W PoE budget with the default 1100 W power supply, a modular uplink slot and StackWise-480 stacking, licensed with Network Essentials. It is built for wiring closets that power high-draw devices — PTZ cameras, multi-radio access points, thin clients and LED lighting — and need enterprise resilience.
Compared with the fixed Catalyst 9200 family, the 9300 adds hot-swappable fans, StackPower power sharing, 480 Gbps stacking and a choice of uplink modules from 4x 1G up to 2x 40G or 2x 25G.
Before you order: Uplinks are modular: the network module (e.g. C9300-NM-8X) is part of the order configuration and may not be included with this unit. Cisco also requires a DNA/Catalyst Essentials subscription term (3, 5 or 7 years) on new orders. Tell us which module and term you need and we will confirm before you order.
What's in the Box
- Catalyst 9300 switch with one PWR-C1-1100WAC-P power supply and three hot-swappable fan modules installed
- AC power cord
- 19-inch rack-mount brackets with screws, cable guide, ground lug and rubber feet
- Uplink network module, StackWise-480 cable, StackPower cable and console cables are separate Cisco parts unless ordered with the switch
What It Means in Practice
- 830 W across 24 ports means every port can run 30 W PoE+ with headroom, and many ports can run full 60 W UPOE.
- A second power supply raises the PoE budget up to 1440 W and adds redundancy; StackPower can share power between stack members.
- The uplink slot takes C9300 modules: 4x 1G (NM-4G), 4x mGig (NM-4M), 8x 10G (NM-8X), 2x 25G (NM-2Y) or 2x 40G (NM-2Q).
- Up to eight C9300 switches stack over StackWise-480 and are managed as one switch.
What Will Not Work
- Without a network module there are no uplink ports — budget for one if it is not in your order.
- The copper ports are Gigabit only; they do not run 2.5G/5G/10G — that needs a C9300 mGig model.
- It does not stack with Catalyst 9200, 9300X (StackWise-1T) or 2960/3650 switches.
- Optics and stack/StackPower cables are not included.
Key Features
Cisco UPOE
Up to 60 W per port on all 24 ports, so high-power cameras and access points need no injectors.
StackWise-480 + StackPower
Stack up to 8 switches at 480 Gbps and pool their power supplies.
Hot-swappable everything
Field-replaceable PSUs and N+1 hot-swappable fan modules for closet uptime.
Modular uplinks
Change uplink speed later by swapping the network module, not the switch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an uplink module included?
It depends on how the unit was configured; a C9300 network module is a separate part. Ask us and we will confirm or quote the module you need.
Can it power 24 PTZ cameras at 60 W?
Not all at 60 W with one PSU: 24 x 60 W = 1440 W, which needs two power supplies. With one 1100 W PSU you have 830 W.
Will it stack with Catalyst 9300X?
No. The 9300X uses StackWise-1T; the C9300-24U-E stacks with C9300 models on StackWise-480.
Is the DNA subscription included?
The switch has a perpetual Network Essentials license; Cisco requires a DNA/Catalyst Essentials subscription term on new orders. We can quote it with the switch.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The C9300-24U-E is the closet switch to choose when you have fewer ports but power-hungry devices: every port can deliver UPOE, and the modular uplink lets you start at 10G and move to 25G later. Confirm the uplink module and the subscription term in the same order — they are the two things people forget. Compare with our other
network switches.
✓ Buy it if you need 24 Gigabit ports with up to 60 W PoE each, enterprise redundancy and Cisco stacking.
✕ Skip it if you need multigigabit (2.5G+) access ports for Wi-Fi 6E/7, or a lower-cost fixed-uplink switch.
→ Also consider the Catalyst 9300X-24HX for 10G mGig UPOE+ ports.
Send us your device list, uplink speed and core switch model and we will confirm module, PSU and subscription before you order.
