Cisco NXK-ACC-KIT-1RU=: 1RU rail kit for Nexus 3000/9000 fixed switches
1RUFront and rear removal4-post 19-inch rackSpare kit (=)
The Cisco NXK-ACC-KIT-1RU= is the Nexus 3000/9000 fixed accessory kit for 1RU switches: front and rear brackets with slider rails that let you install the switch in a 4-post 19-inch rack and remove it from either the front or the rear — for data-centre teams replacing a lost kit or re-racking a Nexus switch.
Cisco documents this kit in the hardware installation guides of its 1RU Nexus 9000 switches, including the 93180YC-EX, 92160YC-X, 93108TC-FX, 9336C-FX2, 93600CD-GX, 9316D-GX, 93180YC-FX3 and 93108TC-FX3. The "=" in the part number marks it as a spare accessory ordered separately from the switch.
Before you order: Cisco does not publish one master list of supported switches. Check that the installation guide of your exact Nexus model names NXK-ACC-KIT-1RU, or send us the model and we will check it for you.
What's in the Box
- 2 x front mounting brackets
- 2 x rear mounting brackets
- 2 x slider rails
- 10 x M4 Phillips screws
- Ground lug kit: 1 x two-hole lug with 2 x M4 x 8 mm screws
- Compliance documents (EAC, China RoHS)
- Not included: the 8 rack screws (10-32 or 12-24) that fix the slider rails to your rack
What It Means in Practice
- Front and rear removal means the switch can be pulled out towards the hot or the cold aisle, whichever suits your cabling.
- The slider rails carry the switch, so one person can guide it into the rack instead of holding it level while screwing in.
- You need a 4-post rack with 64.43 to 88.9 cm between the outer faces of the front and rear rails.
- Keep your rack's own screws and cage nuts ready — Cisco expects them to be supplied by the installer.
What Will Not Work
- 2-post (telco) racks: the kit needs front and rear rails.
- 2RU Nexus switches: those use the 2RU version of the kit.
- Racks shallower than 64.43 cm or deeper than 88.9 cm between rails.
- Modular Nexus chassis: those ship with their own mounting hardware.
Key Features
Front and rear removal
Service the switch from either side of the rack.

Frequently Asked Questions
My switch came with rails — why would I need this?
It is the spare kit for replacing lost or damaged hardware, or for re-racking a switch that was installed with a different kit.
Will it fit a 2RU Nexus?
No. This is the 1RU kit; 2RU fixed Nexus switches use the 2RU version.
Are rack screws included?
No. The M4 screws fix the brackets to the switch; the 8 screws for the rack rails come from your rack's own hardware.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Lost or mismatched rail kits are a common reason a Nexus switch ends up sitting on a shelf. This original Cisco kit restores proper front-and-rear serviceable mounting, provided your rack depth falls in the 64–89 cm range. Browse more mounting parts in our
rack accessories range.
✓ Buy it if you need the original 1RU rail kit for a fixed Nexus 3000/9000 switch in a 4-post rack.
✕ Skip it if your rack is 2-post, outside the 64–89 cm rail distance, or your switch is 2RU.
→ Also consider the 2RU version of the kit for 2RU Nexus switches.
