The Cisco Unified IP Conference Phone 8831 (CP-8831-EU-K9) is a modular conference phone made of a table speaker base and a separate wired control unit with dial pad and display, designed for medium and large meeting rooms up to 106 m² that use Cisco Unified Communications Manager or other Cisco call control.
Four hemi-cardioid microphones give 180° pickup around the base, and a two-element speaker delivers full-duplex wideband audio. Rooms can be extended with wired or DECT wireless expansion microphones, and two bases can be daisy-chained for long boardroom tables.
Before you order: This EU-K9 version is for Cisco call control (Unified CM 8.5(1) and later, UCME 10.0+, Business Edition, HCS). For third-party SIP platforms Cisco sells a separate CP-8831-3P model. Cisco has announced end of sale for the 8831, so plan accessories and spares accordingly.

What It Means in Practice
- The control unit sits in front of the chair person while the base stays in the middle of the table.
- PoE (802.3af Class 3) powers the phone from the network switch; a local Cisco power cube is optional.
- Add up to two wired or two DECT wireless microphones (separate kits) for long tables.
- Daisy-chaining two bases needs the Cisco daisy-chain cable and the power cube.
What Will Not Work
- It does not register on generic third-party SIP servers — that requires the CP-8831-3P model.
- Expansion microphones, daisy-chain cable and the power cube are not included.
- It has a 10/100 network port and no PC pass-through port.
- It is a voice conference phone, not a video device.
