Club 3D CAC-2068 DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 Cable 2 m — 8K 60Hz over a single VESA-certified link

32.4 Gbps HBR38K 7680 x 4320 at 60 HzDSC 1.2 + FEC2 m · 28AWG Ultra-Flex

The Club 3D CAC-2068 is a 2-metre DisplayPort 1.4 cable with HBR3 signalling and 32.4 Gbps of total bandwidth, built for driving an 8K display — or two 4K screens from a single port — off a modern graphics card, workstation or docking station. Sold under part number CAC-2068, it uses full-size male DisplayPort connectors at both ends with the standard latching mechanism, 28AWG conductors and a soft Ultra-Flex jacket that routes cleanly behind a desk. Display Stream Compression 1.2 and Forward Error Correction are both supported, which is what makes 8K at 60 Hz achievable over a passive copper cable of this length. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Both ends are full-size DisplayPort male connectors — this is a cable, not an adapter, so the source and the display must each have a standard DisplayPort port. Mini DisplayPort, USB-C and HDMI devices need a separate adapter or a different cable. 8K 60Hz and dual-4K MST output additionally depend on the graphics card, its driver and the monitor all supporting DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC 1.2; a DisplayPort 1.2 (HBR2) source will still display an image but stays capped at its own 21.6 Gbps ceiling. The plugs latch into the port — press the release catch before pulling, or you risk damaging the connector or the socket.

Key Features

HBR3 at the full 32.4 Gbps
Four HBR3 lanes at 8.1 Gbps each give this cable 32.4 Gbps of raw link bandwidth — the maximum a DisplayPort 1.4 connection can carry, and roughly 50 percent more than the 21.6 Gbps an HBR2 (DisplayPort 1.2) cable delivers.

8K at 60 Hz, or two 4K screens
Club 3D rates the CAC-2068 for 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz on a single display, or 2 x 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz when the graphics card drives a multi-stream (MST) hub or a daisy-chained pair of monitors.

DSC 1.2 and Forward Error Correction
Display Stream Compression 1.2 — the visually lossless VESA codec — packs the 8K stream into the available bandwidth, while Forward Error Correction repairs link errors before they surface as sparkle, flicker or dropout.

Locking plugs, Ultra-Flex jacket
Both connectors use the standard DisplayPort latch so the cable will not shake loose behind a monitor arm, and the 28AWG core sits inside a soft Ultra-Flex jacket that bends tightly without stressing the connector shells. Up to 32 inline audio channels travel alongside the video.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Club 3D CAC-2068 work with my graphics card and monitor?
Yes, provided both ends have a full-size DisplayPort socket. DisplayPort is backward compatible, so the cable works with DisplayPort 1.2 and 1.1 hardware as well — it simply runs at whatever link rate the weaker end supports. It will not connect to Mini DisplayPort, USB-C or HDMI ports without an adapter.
Can it really drive 8K at 60 Hz?
Yes, when the source and the display both support DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC 1.2. The 32.4 Gbps HBR3 link is not enough for uncompressed 8K60, so the 8K mode relies on Display Stream Compression — a VESA-defined, visually lossless scheme. Without DSC on both ends the same cable typically tops out at 4K or 5K.
What is the difference between this and a DisplayPort 1.2 cable?
A DisplayPort 1.2 (HBR2) cable carries 21.6 Gbps; the CAC-2068 carries 32.4 Gbps at HBR3, and adds DSC 1.2 and Forward Error Correction. In practice that is the difference between being capped at 4K 60Hz and being able to run 8K 60Hz, dual 4K 60Hz, or 4K at high refresh rates without dropping to reduced chroma.
What do I need to know before buying the CAC-2068?
Three things: it is a straight DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort cable rather than an adapter, it is 2 m long — long enough for a floor-standing tower and a desk monitor but not for a wall-mounted screen across a room — and the connectors latch, so press the release catch before unplugging.
Singular Expert Insight
A DisplayPort cable is one of the cheapest ways to unlock hardware you already own. If your graphics card and monitor both speak DisplayPort 1.4 but you are still using the HBR2 cable that shipped in a box years ago, the link is capped at 21.6 Gbps and the driver may quietly be running a lower refresh rate or 4:2:0 chroma to fit. The CAC-2068 removes that bottleneck across two metres, which is the practical sweet spot for a tower on the floor and a display on the desk. Length matters more than it looks: the same HBR3 specification behaves differently at 1 m and at 5 m, because passive copper loses headroom as it gets longer, so buy the length you actually need rather than the longest one available. Browse our PC monitors if you are pairing this with a new high-resolution panel, or our graphics cards range to confirm the source end can actually output DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You are connecting an 8K, 5K or high-refresh display to a DisplayPort 1.4 graphics card, workstation or dock and want the full 32.4 Gbps link with DSC 1.2 and FEC, over a 2 m run that reaches from a floor-standing tower to a desk monitor.

Skip it if

Either end is Mini DisplayPort, USB-C or HDMI — this is a straight DP-to-DP cable, not an adapter. Also skip it if your monitor tops out at 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, where an HBR2 cable is already sufficient, or if you need more than roughly 3 m of passive reach.

Also consider

A 1 m HBR3 cable for a monitor-arm or small-form-factor build, an active or fibre-optic DisplayPort cable for runs beyond 3 m, or a USB-C to DisplayPort cable if your laptop only exposes DisplayPort Alt Mode over Type-C.
