Club 3D CAC-1007 DisplayPort 1.4 Active Repeater — push a 4K 120Hz DisplayPort signal out to 20 metres
Extends a DP run to 20 m4K 120Hz over HBR3Cascade up to 3 levelsMicro USB 5V powered
The Club 3D CAC-1007 is an active DisplayPort 1.4 repeater that sits inline between two DisplayPort cables and regenerates the signal, letting a single run reach up to 20 metres while still carrying 4K at 120Hz. Sold under part number CAC-1007, it has a DisplayPort 1.4 female socket on each side — you supply the cables — and is powered from a Micro USB 5V input, with a Micro USB to USB Type-A cable supplied in the box. Club 3D rates it for up to 10 metres of cable on the input side and 10 metres on the output side, supports HBR3 alongside the lower link rates, and allows cascading up to three levels for genuinely long installations. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This repeater is not bidirectional. Club 3D states explicitly that you must connect the source to the input port — wiring it backwards will not work. It also needs both DisplayPort cables to be 28AWG or thicker; thin generic cable will undo the benefit of the repeater. Power comes from the Micro USB 5V input, so a free USB port or a USB charger has to be reachable at the repeater position. Both sockets are DisplayPort female, so this is not a cable and not a converter: it neither replaces your DisplayPort cables nor changes the signal to HDMI, DVI or VGA. Club 3D publishes 4K 120Hz as the maximum resolution for this device, and does not publish DSC, FEC or HDCP support for it.
Best For
✓ Long cable runs from a rack or cupboard to a wall-mounted display
✓ Lecture halls, boardrooms and classrooms where the PC is not near the screen
✓ Digital signage where the media player is locked away from the panel
✓ Control rooms and trading desks with equipment in a separate machine room
✓ Home cinema installs feeding a projector across a room
✓ Workshops and labs where the workstation sits away from the operator panel
Key Features
Up to 20 metres in one hop
Club 3D rates the CAC-1007 for a maximum extending distance of 20 m, made up of 10 m of cable into the input and 10 m out of the output. That is well beyond what passive DisplayPort copper manages reliably on its own.
4K 120Hz over HBR3
The repeater supports DisplayPort 1.4 with HBR3 and a maximum video resolution of 4K at 120Hz, and is downward compatible with the lower link rates — 1.62, 2.7, 5.4 and 8.1 Gbps per lane.
Cascade up to three levels
Club 3D publishes support for a cascading function up to three levels, so several repeaters can be chained where a single 20-metre hop is not enough for the building.
Powered over Micro USB, cable included
A Micro USB 5V input supplies the electronics and Club 3D includes a Micro USB to USB Type-A cable in the box, so the repeater can be fed from any nearby USB port or phone charger rather than a proprietary supply.

Singular Expert Insight
Passive DisplayPort copper starts running out of headroom somewhere around three to five metres at high resolutions, and the failure mode is unhelpfully vague — a link that trains at a lower rate, occasional black frames, or a display that simply is not detected at boot. The CAC-1007 fixes that by regenerating the signal at the midpoint, which is far cheaper than rewiring a room. Two practical points decide whether it will work for you. First, it needs power where it sits, so plan a USB source at the repeater position rather than at either end. Second, Club 3D is explicit that it is not bidirectional, so the input side has to face the computer — label it during installation, because it is impossible to tell by eye afterwards. For permanent runs in a wall or a ceiling, weigh it against a fibre-optic DisplayPort cable, which has no midpoint to power but costs more. Browse our DisplayPort cables and converters for the cables that go either side of it, or our PC monitors if the display at the far end is part of the same project.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
A DisplayPort run has to cross more than a few metres — rack to wall panel, lectern to ceiling projector, machine room to control desk — you need 4K at up to 120Hz at the far end, and there is a USB port or charger available at the midpoint for power.
Skip it if
Your run is short enough for a single passive cable, there is no power available where the repeater would sit, or you need to change the signal to HDMI, DVI or VGA — a repeater regenerates DisplayPort, it does not convert it.
Also consider
A fibre-optic DisplayPort cable for a permanent in-wall run with no midpoint power, a single longer DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 cable if the distance is only slightly beyond a standard length, or a DisplayPort extender over network cable for building-scale distances.
