Club 3D · Thunderbolt 5 Cable
Club 3D CAC-2501 Thunderbolt 5 Certified Cable 1 m – 80/120 Gbps, 240W
Thunderbolt 5 certified80 Gbps · 120 Gbps boost240W USB PD EPRDP 2.1 with DSC
The Club 3D CAC-2501 is a 1 m Intel-certified Thunderbolt 5 USB-C cable rated for 80 Gbps bidirectional data (up to 120 Gbps with Bandwidth Boost), 240W USB Power Delivery EPR charging and DisplayPort 2.1 video with DSC. Part number CAC-2501 connects Thunderbolt 5 laptops and desktops to docks, high-refresh monitors, external PCIe enclosures and fast NVMe storage.
It is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and 3, USB4/USB 80Gbps and ordinary USB-C devices, so one cable covers the whole desk. Construction uses twisted-pair conductors, a braided alloy shield and a halogen-free TPE jacket of 4.8 mm diameter.
Compatibility note: The 80/120 Gbps and 240W ratings are reached only when both host and device support Thunderbolt 5 or USB PD 3.1 EPR respectively; with TB4/USB4 equipment the link runs at that standard’s speed. Multi-monitor modes depend on the host GPU and DSC support.
Key Features
Certified Thunderbolt 5 link
Intel certification guarantees the cable meets TB5 signal requirements: 80 Gbps symmetric, 120 Gbps Bandwidth Boost for display-heavy setups, and PCIe tunnelling up to 64 Gbps.
240W EPR charging
An e-marked USB PD 3.1 EPR rating (48 V / 5 A) powers the most demanding USB-C laptops through the same cable that carries video and data.
Built for daily plugging
Nickel-plated connectors with PVC strain reliefs, braided alloy shielding against EMI and a flexible 4.8 mm TPE jacket that is halogen-free and RoHS compliant.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the Club 3D CAC-2501 work with my Thunderbolt 4 laptop and dock?
Yes. Thunderbolt 5 cables are backwards compatible, so the CAC-2501 runs a Thunderbolt 4 or 3 connection at 40 Gbps, and a USB4 or USB-C connection at whatever that port supports.
Why use a 1 m cable instead of the short cable supplied with a dock?
Club 3D rates the CAC-2501 for the full Thunderbolt 5 feature set over 1 m, which gives room to place a dock or SSD beside the laptop without losing 80 Gbps, PCIe 64 Gbps or 240W charging. It is also the cable Club 3D ships with its CSV-2562 Thunderbolt 5 dock.
Can the CAC-2501 charge a 240W gaming laptop?
Yes, provided the laptop and charger support USB PD 3.1 EPR at 48 V. Laptops that only accept 100W or 140W over USB-C simply draw their own maximum.
Singular Expert Insight
Thunderbolt 5 is unforgiving of cable quality, and the certified logo is the only practical assurance that a cable will hold 80 Gbps and 120 Gbps boost without link drops. The CAC-2501 is the sensible default for a TB5 laptop plus dock, eGPU or NVMe enclosure, and because it also does 240W EPR it replaces a separate charging cable. For a complete TB5 desk, pair it with a dock from our
docking stations range.
✓ Buy it if you connect Thunderbolt 5 or USB4 v2 equipment and want certified 80/120 Gbps plus 240W charging in one cable.
✕ Skip it if you only charge phones or use USB 2.0 devices – a simpler USB-C charging cable costs far less.
→ Also consider Club 3D CSV-2562 Thunderbolt 5 dock (ships with this cable) or CAC-2507 USB-C coupler to extend a short cable.
