Club3D CAC-1130 Mini DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI-D Active Adapter (HDCP ON)

Mini DP 1.2 → DVI-D Dual Link2560 x 1600 @ 60HzHDCP ON · USB-A powered

The Club3D CAC-1130 is an active Mini DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI-D adapter that drives HDCP-capable DVI monitors and projectors from a PC, Mac or laptop at up to 2560 x 1600 at 60Hz. Part number CAC-1130 actively converts the DisplayPort 1.2 signal to dual-link TMDS, drawing extra power from a USB-A port, which passive adapters cannot do above 1920 x 1200.

Compatibility note: This is the HDCP ON version: it passes protected content to DVI monitors that support HDCP. Do not use it with Apple Cinema Displays, which lack HDCP and may show a blank screen — choose the CAC-1130-A (HDCP OFF) instead. The USB-A plug must be connected to a powered USB port for dual-link resolutions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Club3D CAC-1130 and the CAC-1130-A?
Only the HDCP setting. The CAC-1130 is HDCP ON, for DVI monitors that support copy protection; the CAC-1130-A is the HDCP OFF version for Apple Cinema Displays. The hardware, resolution and length are the same.
Does the CAC-1130 fit my computer?
It fits any computer with a Mini DisplayPort (or Thunderbolt 1/2) video output, such as older MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini and Surface models. For full-size DisplayPort use the CAC-1010; for USB-C / Thunderbolt 3–4 add a USB-C to Mini DP adapter or use a USB-C to DVI adapter.

Singular Expert Insight

The CAC-1130 is what you need when a large dual-link DVI monitor must run at its native 2560 x 1600 — cheap passive DP-to-DVI adapters stop at 1920 x 1200. It keeps a still-excellent display working with a modern Mini DP computer. If you are replacing the screen anyway, current PC monitors with DisplayPort or USB-C inputs avoid adapters altogether.
✓ Buy it if you need 2560 x 1600 at 60Hz on a dual-link DVI monitor with HDCP from a Mini DP output.
✕ Skip it if your monitor runs at 1920 x 1200 or less (a passive adapter is enough) or has HDMI/DisplayPort inputs.
→ Also consider the Club3D CAC-1130-A (HDCP OFF) or the CAC-1010 for full-size DisplayPort sources.
