The Conceptronic EMRICK05BS turns a free PCI Express x4 slot into an M.2 NVMe socket, and adds the part that most adapter cards leave out: a proper aluminium heat sink built into the card. That matters on a drive that will be written to for minutes at a time, because an NVMe controller that gets too hot cuts its own speed to protect itself. The drive runs on four PCIe 3.0 lanes at up to 32 GT/s, and both a standard and a low-profile bracket are supplied.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is an M-Key NVMe card only. An M.2 SATA SSD will not work in it — there is no SATA socket and no SATA cable; for a SATA M.2 drive you need the EMRICK04B. No SSD is included. You need a free PCIe x4 slot or larger, and the drive must be 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 — a 22110 (110 mm) drive does not fit. The aluminium heat sink stands taller than a flat thermal pad, so check clearance to the card in the adjacent slot. Conceptronic lists Windows support only.

You are fitting an NVMe SSD that will be written to hard — video, backups, disk imaging — into a desktop with no free M.2 slot, and there is room around the PCIe slot for a metal heat sink.
Skip it if
Your M.2 drive is a SATA one or is 110 mm long, you need two drives on one card, or the only free PCIe slot is tight under a large graphics card — the flat EMRICK05B suits that better.
