Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6400 CL30 — AMD EXPO kit, grey

32GB (2 x 16GB)DDR5-6400 CL30AMD EXPOGrey

The Corsair Vengeance CMK32GX5M2B6400Z30 is a 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 desktop memory kit tested at 6400MT/s with timings 30-40-40-104 at 1.40V, in a grey aluminium heat spreader. Corsair lists AMD EXPO as its performance profile and AMD 600 and 800 series chipsets as the validated platforms, so this is a kit for Ryzen AM5 builds.

It sits one step above the common DDR5-6000 CL30 kits: same CAS latency, higher data rate. Whether a given Ryzen CPU and board run 6400 smoothly depends on the memory controller and BIOS, so it suits builders who are comfortable checking their board’s support list.

Before you order: Corsair validates this kit for AMD 600/800-series motherboards with an EXPO profile only. On Intel boards it will start at the standard 4800MHz SPD setting and any higher speed would have to be set manually — for Intel, choose an XMP kit.

What's in the Box

  • 2 x Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR5 UDIMM modules (grey heat spreaders) = 32GB kit
  • No software or cables needed; Corsair iCUE is optional

What It Means in Practice

  • Fit the two modules in the dual-channel slots your manual recommends for two DIMMs (usually A2 and B2) and enable EXPO in the BIOS to reach 6400MT/s.
  • First boot after installing new DDR5 can take a minute or more on a black screen while the board trains the memory; let it finish.
  • Without EXPO the kit runs at its SPD default of 4800MHz CL40 at 1.1V — fully stable, just slower.
  • The rating applies to the two-module kit. Adding a second kit for four modules is not covered and typically means lower speeds.

What Will Not Work

  • DDR4 motherboards — DDR5 has a different key and will not seat.
  • Laptops or mini PCs with SO-DIMM slots.
  • Intel platforms at the rated speed — there is no Intel XMP profile listed for this kit.
  • Systems that require ECC or registered (RDIMM) memory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it run 6400 on any AM5 board?
On AMD 600/800 boards with a current BIOS and EXPO enabled, that is the rated setting. Individual CPUs differ; if a system is unstable at 6400, 6000 with the same timings is the usual fallback.
6000 CL30 or 6400 CL30 — which should I buy?
6000 CL30 is the safe default for AM5. 6400 CL30 gives a little more bandwidth for enthusiasts who will check stability; the real-world difference in games is small.
Can I use it in an Intel PC?
It will work at default 4800MHz, but Corsair only lists AMD EXPO and AMD chipsets for this kit. For Intel buy an XMP kit such as the CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30W.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Pick this kit for a Ryzen AM5 build when you want the extra headroom of 6400 at CL30 and you are happy to update the BIOS and confirm stability. If you just want it to work first time, or you might move to Intel, the DDR5-6000 CL30 EXPO+XMP kit is the safer choice. See our memory (RAM) range for both.
✓ Buy it if you are building on AMD AM5 (600/800-series board) and want a fast 32GB EXPO kit.
✕ Skip it if you are on Intel, on DDR4, or you need 64GB.
→ Also consider Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 White (CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30W) with both EXPO and XMP.
Not sure your board handles 6400? Send us the motherboard and CPU model and we will check the memory support list before you order.
