Cudy GS1016E — Sixteen Gigabit Ports You Can Manage From Your Phone
16x gigabit ports, metal chassis802.1Q VLANs, QoS, port mirroringRemote management from the Cudy appRack mountable, internal power supply
The GS1016E is a sixteen-port gigabit easy-managed switch with one feature the rest of the E-series does not publish: cloud management. It appears on Cudy’s own list of cloud-supported switches, which means you can see the port status and change the configuration from the app rather than driving to the site. Locally it does what a smart switch should — 802.1Q VLANs, QoS, port mirroring, IGMP snooping, static link aggregation and rate limiting, all from a browser. The chassis is metal with an internal power supply and rack ears, so it goes into a cabinet or sits on a shelf.
Compatibility — check before buying:
There is no PoE. This switch will not power access points, cameras or phones — Cudy uses a P in the model code for PoE models. There are no SFP slots, so there is no fibre uplink on this model; if you need one, the GS108ES2 or GS1028ES2 have them. Cloud and app management requires the switch to reach the internet and a Cudy account — on an isolated network you are back to the local web interface, which does everything except the remote part. Cudy does not publish a warranty term for this product.
Best For
✓ Sites you do not visit often — a second office, a rental, a remote unit
✓ Small offices needing VLANs on sixteen ports
✓ Anyone who wants port status on a phone rather than a laptop
✓ Rack cabinets and shelves alike
✓ Camera and AV runs without PoE
✓ Replacing two eight-port switches with one
Key Features
Managed from the app, not just the LAN
This is one of the models on Cudy’s published cloud-supported list. Port status, configuration and monitoring are reachable remotely, which turns “is that port up?” from a site visit into a glance at a phone.
A full smart-switch feature set locally
802.1Q, MTU and port-based VLANs, QoS by 802.1p, DSCP or port, port mirroring, IGMP snooping, loop detection and prevention, static link aggregation and per-port rate limiting — through the web interface, with SNMP alongside.
Sixteen ports in a metal chassis
A steel housing with an internal power supply and rack ears, so it mounts in a cabinet or sits on a shelf without an external brick to accommodate.
Plug in first, configure later
It forwards traffic out of the box like an unmanaged switch. VLANs and QoS are there when the network grows into them, not a prerequisite for getting it running.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the cloud management actually give me?
Remote visibility and configuration through the Cudy app and cloud platform, so you can check port status or change a setting without being on site. It needs the switch to have an internet path and a Cudy account. Everything else — VLANs, QoS, mirroring — also works locally through the web interface with no cloud at all.
Does it power cameras or access points?
No. There is no PoE on this switch. Cudy puts a P in the model code for PoE models — tell us how many devices you need to power and we will point you at the right one.
Can I connect fibre to it?
Not directly — there are no SFP slots on this model. For a fibre uplink look at the GS108ES2 (eight ports plus two SFP) or the GS1028ES2 (twenty-eight ports plus two SFP), or use a media converter into one of the copper ports.
GS1016E or GS108E?
Sixteen ports against eight, rack mounting and an internal power supply against a desktop box with an adapter, and — the real difference — cloud and app management, which the GS108E does not publish. If you manage the switch from a chair next to it, the smaller one is fine.
Singular Expert Insight
The interesting thing about this switch is not the port count, it is that Cudy lists it as
cloud supported while the rest of the E-series is not on that list. That is the deciding factor for anyone maintaining a site they do not sit in — a second branch, a rental, a friend’s office. Two limits to plan around.
No PoE, so access points and cameras need their own power or a separate injector, and
no SFP, so fibre needs a media converter or a different model. Also watch the model letters across this family:
GS1016 and
GS1016D are unmanaged,
GS1016E is this one, and anything with a
P is the PoE line. Order by the full code. The rest of the range is in our
switch and bridge section.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want sixteen managed gigabit ports with VLANs and QoS, and the ability to check or change them remotely from an app.
Skip it if
You need PoE for access points or cameras, or an SFP fibre uplink — neither is on this model.
