Cudy GS1016ES2 — Sixteen Gigabit Ports, Two Fibre Slots, One Rack Unit
16x gigabit RJ45 + 2x 1.25G SFP36 Gbps switching, 8K MAC table802.1Q VLANs, QoS, 4 mirroring sessions19-inch metal chassis, internal PSU
The GS1016ES2 is the most complete of Cudy’s easy-managed switches at this size: sixteen gigabit RJ45 ports, two 1.25G SFP fibre slots, 36 Gbps of switching capacity and an 8192-entry MAC table, in a 440 mm metal chassis with an internal power supply. Management is through a web browser, SNMP or the Cudy app, and the feature set is the full one — 4096 VLANs, QoS, four port-mirroring sessions and four aggregation groups of up to eight ports each. It draws 7.8 watts at maximum. For an office floor or a comms cabinet, this is the sensible one to buy.
Compatibility — check before buying:
There is no PoE on this model. It will not power access points, cameras or phones — Cudy marks PoE switches with a P in the code. If you need PoE, ask us before ordering rather than after the rack is cabled. SFP modules are not included; the slots take standard 1.25G transceivers and both ends of a fibre link must match on wavelength and fibre type. Note how it sits against its siblings: the GS1016E is the same port count without the fibre slots, and the GS108ES2 is the eight-port version. Cudy does not publish a warranty term for this product.
Best For
✓ Office floors and small comms cabinets
✓ Sites that need fibre to another building or floor
✓ Replacing several small switches with one rack unit
✓ Networks segmented into VLANs
✓ Camera and AV installations without PoE
✓ Remote sites managed from the Cudy app
Key Features
Eighteen ports, sixteen of them copper
Sixteen gigabit RJ45 ports plus two dedicated 1.25G SFP slots, with 36 Gbps of switching capacity and 26.78 Mpps forwarding — enough that every port can run flat out at once.
The full easy-managed feature set
4096 VLAN IDs with 802.1Q, MTU and port-based modes, QoS by 802.1p, DSCP or port, four port-mirroring sessions, DHCP and IGMP snooping, loop detection and prevention, and four link-aggregation groups of up to eight ports each.
Managed three ways
Web interface, SNMP v1 and v2, or the Cudy app with cloud connectivity — so a site you rarely visit can still be checked and changed remotely.
Rack ready, low draw
A 440 x 180 x 44 mm metal chassis with an internal 100-240 V supply and no external brick. 7.8 watts at maximum, 4.5 at idle, with a 4 Mbit packet buffer and 15 KB jumbo frame support.

Frequently Asked Questions
GS1016ES2 or GS1016E?
Same sixteen copper ports; the ES2 adds the two 1.25G SFP fibre slots and a stronger switching fabric. If there is no fibre anywhere in the plan, the GS1016E costs less and does the rest. If a run has to cross a yard or reach another floor, buy this one.
Does it power cameras or access points?
No. There is no PoE on this switch. Cudy puts a P in the model code for PoE models — tell us how many devices you need to power and we will quote the right switch or a POE200H injector.
Are SFP modules included?
No, the slots ship empty and take standard 1.25G SFP transceivers. A fibre link needs a matching module at each end and the correct patch cable — send us the details of what you are connecting and we will pair them.
Do I have to configure it?
No. It forwards traffic out of the box like an unmanaged switch. VLANs, QoS and mirroring are there when you want them, through a browser, SNMP or the Cudy app.
Singular Expert Insight
Within Cudy’s easy-managed range this is the model that does not make you choose. The
GS108E has good management but only eight ports and no fibre; the
GS108ES2 adds fibre but cuts the mirroring sessions and trunk groups in half; the
GS1016E has sixteen ports and cloud but no fibre. This one has all of it — sixteen ports, two SFP slots, four mirroring sessions, four eight-port trunk groups, an 8K MAC table and app management. The single thing it does not have is
PoE, and that is the question to settle before ordering: if access points or cameras need power over the same cable, either move to a P model or plan on injectors. A
POE200H handles one device at 30 W. The rest of the range is in our
switch and bridge section.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want sixteen managed gigabit ports plus fibre uplinks in a rack, with app management and no compromises on the feature set.
Skip it if
You need PoE from the switch itself, or there is no fibre in the plan and the cheaper GS1016E would do the same job.
Also consider
Cudy GS1016E for the same sixteen ports without the fibre slots. Cudy GS1028ES2 for twenty-eight ports. Cudy POE200H to power a single access point from any of these switches. SFP transceivers matched to your run — ask us.
