The GS1028ES2 is Cudy’s twenty-eight-port easy-managed gigabit switch: twenty-six RJ45 ports plus two 1.25G SFP fibre slots, in a 19-inch 1U steel chassis with rack ears in the box. Management is through a web browser — 802.1Q VLANs, QoS, port mirroring, IGMP snooping, static link aggregation and per-port rate limiting. The power supply is internal, so there is no adapter dangling behind the rack. It is the switch for an office floor, a small comms cabinet or a workshop that has run out of ports.
Compatibility — check before buying:
There is no PoE on this model. It will not power access points, cameras or phones. Cudy marks PoE switches with a P in the code — the PoE version of this switch is the GS1028EPS2, a different product with a different price. Ordering this one by mistake when you needed PoE is the single most common error on this family, so check the letters. SFP modules are not included and must match at both ends of a fibre link. This is a fixed-fan rack switch, not a silent desktop unit — plan it into a cabinet or a utility room rather than an open office. Cudy does not publish a warranty term for this product.

Twenty-eight gigabit ports with a web interface and fibre slots, in one rack unit with an internal PSU, covers most of what a small-to-mid office actually needs from a switch. The decision to get right before ordering is PoE. If any part of the plan involves powering access points, IP cameras or desk phones over the same cable that carries their data, this is the wrong model — you want the GS1028EPS2. It is worth counting those devices now rather than discovering the gap after the rack is cabled. Second, budget for SFP modules if you are running fibre: they are not included, and both ends must match on wavelength and fibre type.
