Cudy WR1300 V4.0 · AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Router
AC1200 dual-bandGigabit WAN + 4 × LANWireGuard · OpenVPN · ZeroTierWPA3
The Cudy WR1300 V4.0 is an AC1200 dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router with a Gigabit WAN port, four Gigabit LAN ports and four external antennas, aimed at apartments, small offices and branch sites that want reliable Wi-Fi, full Gigabit wiring and a surprisingly complete VPN toolset at an entry-level price.
It delivers 867 Mbps on 5 GHz with MU-MIMO and beamforming, plus 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for range and IoT devices. An 880 MHz dual-core processor with 128 MB RAM runs WPA3 security, an SPI firewall, DNS over TLS and VPN server/client support for WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec, ZeroTier, PPTP and L2TP — useful for connecting a small office to head office or reaching home devices remotely. Cudy lists this V4.0 hardware as being phased out in favour of the WR1300 V5.0.
Before you order: The WR1300 is a router, not a modem — your provider's modem or ONT stays in front. Wi-Fi 5 only: Wi-Fi 6/7 devices connect, but at Wi-Fi 5 speeds.

What It Means in Practice
- Gigabit WAN and LAN mean a 300–500 Mbps fibre plan reaches wired PCs at full speed.
- WireGuard VPN client or server turns it into a low-cost site-to-site or remote-access router for a small office.
- Router, Access Point, Extender, WISP and Client modes let you reuse it as an AP or a range extender later.
- Cudy Mesh pairs it with other Cudy mesh routers over Ethernet or wireless backhaul.
What Will Not Work
- Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 speeds or a 6 GHz band.
- USB storage or printer sharing — there is no USB port.
- Large homes from a single unit; for many rooms or floors use a mesh system.
- High-throughput VPN for many users — the 880 MHz CPU suits small-office loads.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it suitable for a 500 Mbps fibre line?
Yes for wired devices through the Gigabit ports. Over Wi-Fi 5 real-world speeds are usually lower than 500 Mbps, depending on distance and the client device.
Can it connect our shop to the office network?
Yes. WireGuard or OpenVPN client/server lets it build a site-to-site or remote-access VPN for a small number of users.
What is the difference to V5.0?
Cudy lists V4.0 as phase-out with V5.0 as the newer hardware. Check that a configuration guide you follow matches V4.0.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
WR1300 V4.0 is a budget router that punches above its price for small offices thanks to WireGuard and ZeroTier. For homes with many Wi-Fi 6 devices a Wi-Fi 6 router is the better long-term buy. Compare our
routers and mesh systems.
✓ Buy it if you need a low-cost Gigabit router with real VPN features for a small office, shop or apartment.
✕ Skip it if you want Wi-Fi 6/7 speeds, USB sharing or coverage across several floors.
→ Also consider a Wi-Fi 6 router such as the TP-Link Archer AX73 for faster wireless.
