Datalogic CAB-424E Coiled USB Type A Cable, 2 m, Power Off Terminal
USB Type A host plugCoiled, 2 mPowered by the hostGryphon and QuickScan
The Datalogic CAB-424E (90A052100) is a coiled USB Type A interface cable, 2 m long, that connects a Datalogic Gryphon 4200, 4500, 4600 or QuickScan 2100 series scanner to the USB port of a PC, POS terminal or cash register.
Datalogic lists it as a Power Off Terminal cable: the scanner takes its power from the host USB port, so there is no separate power supply to plug in. The coiled section keeps the cable off the counter when the scanner sits in its stand and stretches when the operator picks it up to scan a bulky item.
Before you order: This cable is for USB connection only. If your POS needs RS-232, keyboard wedge (PS/2) or an IBM retail port, it needs a different Datalogic cable. Send us your scanner model and the port on your terminal and we will confirm the right part.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Datalogic CAB-424E coiled USB Type A cable, 2 m (90A052100)
What It Means in Practice
- Plug-and-play replacement for a damaged or lost USB cable on a supported Gryphon or QuickScan scanner.
- No power brick on the counter: the scanner runs from the host USB port.
- The coil gives the cashier reach without leaving a long straight cable lying around the checkout.
- Use the same cable when moving a scanner from one USB workstation to another.
What Will Not Work
- Will not connect to an RS-232 (DB-9) serial port or a PS/2 keyboard port.
- Not listed by Datalogic for the Heron HD3100, QuickScan 2200/2500, PowerScan or Magellan scanners.
- Does not fit scanners from other brands (Honeywell, Zebra and others use their own cables).
- Not a charging cable for the wireless base stations that need a high-current or externally powered USB cable.
Key Features
Power Off Terminal
Datalogic's term for a cable that draws scanner power from the host. One cable carries both data and power, so a standard USB port is all you need.
Coiled design
The spiral section retracts when the scanner rests in its holder and extends during scanning, reducing trip and snag points at busy counters.
Multi-family fit
The same part number is listed in Datalogic's catalogue for four scanner families, which keeps spare-parts stock simple when a site runs mixed Gryphon and QuickScan models.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
In retail and warehouse use the cable usually fails long before the scanner does, so a spare matched by part number is cheap insurance against downtime at a till. Check the scanner family first, then the port on the host. For other connections around the counter, see our cables range.
✓ Buy it if Buy it if you run a Gryphon 4200, 4500, 4600 or QuickScan 2100 scanner on a USB port and want a coiled 2 m cable with no extra power supply.
✕ Skip it if Skip it if your terminal uses RS-232, PS/2 or an IBM retail port, or if your scanner is a Magellan, PowerScan or Heron model.
→ Also consider Also consider 90A052066 (Enhanced coiled USB Type A, 5 m) for more reach, or 90A052065 (Enhanced straight USB Type A, 2 m) if you prefer a straight cable.
