Datalogic USB Type A Cable, External Power, 4.5 m, for Magellan 9800i and 9550i
USB Type A host plug4.5 m / 15 ftExternal Power typeMagellan bi-optic
The Datalogic 90A052135 is a 4.5 m USB Type A interface cable, External Power type, that connects a Magellan 9800i or Magellan 9550i in-counter bi-optic scanner to the USB port of a POS terminal or PC.
The 4.5 m length is meant for checkout lanes where the scanner is built into the counter and the POS sits further away. External Power means the scanner does not run from the USB port: it keeps its own Datalogic power supply, and the cable carries data.
Before you order: Your scanner needs its own power supply. For the Magellan 9800i Datalogic lists the 90ACC0196 power brick (12 V, 30 W) with a country power cord, both sold separately. If your POS uses an IBM retail USB port (Port 9E/17), RS-232 or a scale interface, it needs a different Datalogic cable.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Datalogic USB Type A cable, External Power, 4.5 m (90A052135)
What It Means in Practice
- Replaces a damaged USB host cable on a Magellan 9800i or 9550i without changing anything else at the lane.
- 4.5 m reaches a POS placed at the end of the checkout or under the counter.
- Standard USB Type A plug: works with ordinary PC-based and Windows POS terminals.
- Power stays with the scanner's own brick, so a weak or switched-off USB port does not affect the scanner and scale.
What Will Not Work
- Will not power the scanner: the scanner's own Datalogic power supply is still needed.
- Not for IBM SurePOS powered USB ports; Datalogic lists separate IBM USB cables for those.
- No RS-232 or keyboard wedge connection.
- Not listed for Magellan 3400VSi, 3500HSi, 3600VSi, 3700HSi or handheld scanners.
Key Features
Long 4.5 m run
Matches the 15 ft cable lengths Datalogic uses across its in-counter Magellan cables, so a replacement keeps the same routing under the checkout.
External Power design
Data over USB, power from the scanner's own supply. This suits bi-optic scanners and scanner-scales, which need more power than a standard USB port provides.
Standard USB Type A host
Plugs into any ordinary USB Type A port on a PC-based POS, with no special retail port required.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
On a bi-optic checkout the host cable is usually routed under the counter, where it gets crushed or kicked, and a direct Datalogic replacement avoids guesswork about pinouts. Match the cable to the POS port first, then the length. For other cabling around the lane, see our cables range.
✓ Buy it if Buy it if you run a Magellan 9800i or 9550i on a standard USB port and need a 4.5 m host cable.
✕ Skip it if Skip it if your POS uses an IBM retail port, RS-232 or a powered USB port, or if your scanner is a different Magellan model.
→ Also consider Also consider 90A052133 (IBM USB, External Power, 4.5 m) for IBM terminals, or 90A052121 (RS-232, 9-pin, 4.5 m) for serial connections.
