The Delock LC to LC duplex patch cable is a 2 m multi-mode OM4 fibre cable (50/125 µm) for connecting switches, servers, storage and media converters with LC duplex ports — typically SFP and SFP+ transceivers inside a rack or between neighbouring racks.
It has ceramic ferrules with dust protection caps and a halogen-free LS0H jacket in violet, the usual colour code for OM4. Both ends are identical LC duplex connectors.
Before you order: Multi-mode OM4 only works with multi-mode (SR) transceivers, typically 850 nm. It will not work with single-mode (LR) optics — check the module type in both devices before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- Connects two SFP/SFP+ SR modules or a switch and a server NIC with LC duplex ports.
- OM4 is backward compatible with OM3 links and suitable for higher-speed short-reach multi-mode links within the distance limits of the transceivers.
- If a link does not come up, swap the two fibres at one end (Tx/Rx polarity) — this is a common, harmless fix.
- Keep the dust caps on until you plug in, and clean the ferrules if the cable has been unplugged for a while.
What Will Not Work
- It will not work with single-mode (OS2, LR/ER) transceivers.
- It does not fit SC, ST or MPO ports.
- It does not include transceivers or media converters.
- It is not an outdoor or armoured cable.
