The Delock 86446 is the RJ45 Secure Clip 40 pieces set: forty clips that fit onto the RJ45 plug of an ordinary patch cable and replace its latch, plus the Secure Clip Tool that opens them. Once the plug is pushed into the jack, the clip holds it there, so the cable cannot be pulled out and the port cannot be taken over by another device. In practice it keeps critical links — a server, a camera, a till, a phone system — from being unplugged by accident or on purpose, in public places, shared offices and data centres. Delock presents the system as a way to control physical access to the network in safety-critical areas.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a cable lock, not a blocker for empty ports: it secures a patch cable that is already plugged in. It works with standard RJ45 patch cables — Delock describes the clip as adjustable to different plugs — but plugs with thick boots or unusual latch shapes may not take it; send us the cable if in doubt. The Secure Clip Tool is the only way to open the lock, so keep it safe; spare tools are sold as 86412 (4 pieces). To restore a plug’s normal latch later, Delock offers the Repair clip 86420. Cables are not included.
