Delock 64349 adds one RJ45 wired Ethernet port to a compatible PC or laptop through USB-C 40 Gbps or Thunderbolt. It supports network link rates from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps, including 2.5 and 5 Gbps NBASE-T. One aluminium adapter, a USB-C to USB-C cable approximately 30 cm long and a manual are included. The adapter draws power from USB; an Ethernet cable and network equipment are separate.

Before you order:
A USB-C connector alone is insufficient: the host must have USB-C 40 Gbps or a listed Thunderbolt 3/4/5 port. Delock explicitly excludes operation on slower USB ports. Listed systems are Windows 11, macOS 14.5+ and Linux Kernel 6.5+. A 10 Gbps link requires compatible network equipment and cabling; it does not guarantee 10 Gbps internet access or file-transfer speed.

What It Means in Practice

  • For example, connect the supplied USB-C cable to a supported laptop port, connect RJ45 to a suitable multi-gigabit switch and install the appropriate official network driver if required by the operating system. Check the negotiated link rate in network settings. Fast local transfers also depend on the other computer or storage system; this adapter changes the network connection, not the speed of every part of the system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work on a regular USB-C 5 or 10 Gbps port?
No. Delock specifies USB-C 40 Gbps or a listed Thunderbolt host connection and states that slower USB ports are not supported.
Does 10GbE guarantee a 10 Gbps download?
No. It is the maximum supported Ethernet link rate. Network equipment, cabling, the remote system and internet service limit actual transfers.
Is it a standalone router or Wi-Fi adapter?
No. It adds one wired RJ45 network interface to a compatible host. It requires that host and a wired network connection.
Singular Expert Insight
Verify the host port before planning a network upgrade. A 10GbE adapter is useful when the switch and the devices you exchange files with also support the required rate; an ordinary USB-C connector is not enough for this model. Ask us to check your multi-gigabit setup
