This is a toploader, not a backpack. DICOTA’s construction type for it is literally “Toploader”. At least two European distributors title it as a backpack while describing a toploader in the body text, which is a straightforward data error. It has a shoulder strap and leather handles; it does not have backpack straps.

Capacity in litres is not published. DICOTA gives external dimensions of 430 x 330 x 150 mm and a maximum device size of 420 x 295 x 45 mm, but no litre figure for this article. Any litre value you see against it elsewhere has been invented. The 45 mm depth allowance is generous and accommodates thick workstation laptops.

The recycled claim is a bottle count, not a percentage. DICOTA publishes “made of 27 recycled PET bottles” and specifies the fabric as 1680D rPET polyester, but publishes no rPET percentage for this article at all — neither fabric-level nor whole-product. Any percentage quoted against this part number is a distributor invention. Note too that DICOTA’s newer SEVEN range does publish percentages; the older Eco PRO line does not.

Two features it does not have, which its newer siblings do: DICOTA publishes no RFID pocket and no tracker slot for this bag. If those matter, look at the SEVEN or FIVE ranges instead. Note also that the leather handles mean this bag cannot be described as vegan.

On water: DICOTA claims waterproof material at the bottom and water-repellent material overall. That is two distinct claims and neither makes the bag waterproof; no rating is published.

DICOTA calls its Eco PRO line the best it makes, and on this bag the claim is reasonably supported by the construction rather than the marketing. Most laptop bags protect the machine with foam. This one uses memory foam plus an EVA frame, which is a different approach: the frame keeps the bag rigid so that a knock or a squeeze is resisted rather than transmitted. On a 17.3 inch laptop, where there is a lot of unsupported panel between the corners, structural rigidity is worth more than another layer of padding.

The second thing done properly is the loading. A toploader sounds like a small distinction until you have stood at a security desk excavating a 17 inch machine from a side-opening bag while a queue forms. Drop-in from the top, with a fitall system and anti-slip lining holding the machine still once it is there, is simply the right design for someone who does this twice a week.

Two thoughtful details are worth calling out. The second front pocket is specifically for the power supply and cable, which keeps the heaviest, dirtiest object in the bag away from documents. And the trolley belt unfastens into an additional document compartment, so a panel that would otherwise be dead weight when you are not using a suitcase earns its place.

What this bag does not have is the security kit that DICOTA now fits to its newer ranges. There is no RFID pocket and no tracker slot published for the Eco PRO. That is a generational difference rather than an oversight — the SEVEN and FIVE lines that succeed it have both. Similarly, DICOTA publishes no litre capacity and no rPET percentage for this article, only a count of 27 bottles, where the newer ranges publish precise ratios. If either of those matters to you, the newer lines are the ones to compare.

One thing to be aware of if it affects your purchasing: the carry handles are real leather, so this bag cannot be specified as vegan. And DICOTA’s water claims are precise rather than sweeping — waterproof material at the bottom, water-repellent overall. That is honest phrasing for a fabric bag and should be read as protection against a wet pavement and a shower, not against sustained rain.

The lifetime warranty applies here, capped at 30 years in Germany for legal reasons. On a bag that will be picked up and put down several times a day for years, and where the failure mode is a zip or a strap, that is the specification most likely to be called on.
