The DIGITUS DK-2933A-10-LCA-SX is a 10 m steel-armoured OS2 single-mode simplex fibre patch cable with LC/APC and LC/APC connectors, made for FTTH/GPON drops, APC patch panels and other low-reflection single-mode links.
It uses OS2 single-mode 9/125 µm fibre in a LSZH jacket of 3 mm, colour-coded white so the fibre type is recognisable in the rack.
Before you order: APC connectors (green) mate only with APC. Check that the socket or adapter at each end is APC and LC before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- Single-mode OS2 is the fibre for long links: LR/LX optics run kilometres, and it is the fibre used for FTTH/GPON service connections.
- Connectors: LC on both ends — LC (small-form-factor latch connector, used on SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and most duplex QSFP optics).
- Length: at 10 m it reaches between racks or across a server room.
- APC polish: the end faces are cut at 8°, which keeps reflections very low — the norm on FTTH/GPON and RF-over-fibre links. APC connectors are green so they are easy to tell apart.
- Simplex means one fibre: it suits single-fibre (BiDi) optics, FTTH service drops and any point where only one strand is needed.
- Bend-insensitive G.657.A2 fibre tolerates tighter routing in cabinets, trunking and wall boxes without the loss a standard fibre would show.
- The steel armour protects the fibre against crushing, kinking and rodents — useful under raised floors, in ceilings and in workshops where a normal cord gets stepped on or pinched.
- LSZH jacket: low smoke and zero halogen when exposed to fire — the jacket normally required in offices, data rooms and public buildings.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode optics (SR/SX, e.g. 10GBASE-SR, 1000BASE-SX) — they need OM3/OM4/OM5 multimode cords, not OS2.
- UPC/PC ports or adapters (blue or beige) — APC (green, 8° angled) must mate only with APC; mixing them causes high loss and can damage the end faces.
- Ports other than LC — LC does not fit other connector types without a hybrid cord or adapter; check both ends of your link before ordering.
- Standard duplex transceivers (separate transmit and receive) — they need two fibres; one simplex cord carries only one direction.
- RJ45/copper ports — this cable carries light, so both ends need fibre ports or optical transceivers.
- Outdoor or direct-burial installation — the manufacturer specifies it for indoor use.
