DIGITUS 4K HDBaseT HDMI KVM Extender Set, 4K/60Hz up to 120 m, 1080p up to 150 m over Cat6A/7/8, USB, IR, PoC
DIGITUS DS-55522 — uncompressed 4K/60Hz HDMI and KVM over one Cat cable
The DIGITUS 4K HDBaseT HDMI KVM Extender Set (part DS-55522) is a transmitter and receiver that send uncompressed HDMI 2.0b video at 4K/60Hz 4:4:4 with HDR, USB keyboard/mouse and bi-directional IR over one Cat6A, Cat7 or Cat8 cable — up to 120 m at 4K and 150 m at 1080p — for operating a PC in a server room or rack from a desk, classroom or control station.
Thanks to Power over Cable (PoC), only one unit needs a power supply; the other is powered through the Cat cable. An EDID switch on the transmitter lets you copy the display EDID or force a standard 1080p mode when a source misbehaves.

What It Means in Practice
- Keep the PC in a locked rack and work from up to 120 m away at 4K, with keyboard and mouse on the receiver.
- Only one socket needed: power either end and PoC feeds the other unit.
- Uncompressed HDBaseT means no compression artefacts or added streaming delay, unlike IP extenders.
- IR in both directions lets you control the source from the display end, or the display from the source end.
What Will Not Work
- No local HDMI loop-out, RS-232 or LAN pass-through is published for this set.
- USB is 1.1 for keyboard and mouse only — not for USB drives or webcams.
- Not for routing through switches or patching over an existing LAN.
- 4K at 150 m is not supported — for longer distances use a fibre set such as DS-55348.
