DIGITUS DS-55340 8K HDMI Splitter, 1x4, with Audio Extractor

8K 60Hz1 in · 4 out48 Gbps · HDCP 2.3Audio extraction

The DIGITUS DS-55340 is a 1x4 HDMI 2.1 splitter that duplicates one source to four displays at up to 8K (7680 x 4320) at 60 Hz. It suits premium showrooms, boardrooms and home cinemas that combine several large TVs or projectors.

Bandwidth of 48 Gbps with HDR, 36-bit Deep Color and HDCP 2.3 covers the latest 8K and 4K sources. An integrated audio extractor provides Toslink optical and 3.5 mm stereo outputs, and an EDID switch manages display compatibility.

Compatibility note: 8K 60Hz requires an HDMI 2.1 source, Ultra High Speed HDMI cables and 8K displays; with HDMI 2.0 equipment the splitter passes the best format the whole chain supports.

Key Features

8K 60Hz to four screens
A 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 signal path sends 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz with HDR and Deep Color 36-bit to four outputs at once, while remaining fully compatible with 4K and 1080p.

Optical and analogue audio out
Toslink and 3.5 mm stereo outputs extract the audio for a soundbar, amplifier or PA system, independent of the four HDMI displays.

EDID management
The EDID switch helps the source choose a format all connected displays accept, which avoids blank screens when mixing TVs, monitors and projectors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need special HDMI cables for 8K with the DIGITUS DS-55340?
Yes. For 8K 60Hz at 48 Gbps use certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cables between the source, the splitter and each display. Standard High Speed cables limit you to 4K-class signals.
Can the DS-55340 feed a soundbar and four TVs at the same time?
Yes. The four HDMI outputs carry video and audio to the displays, while the Toslink or 3.5 mm output sends the sound to a soundbar or amplifier simultaneously.
What is the difference between the DS-55340 and the DS-55338?
The DS-55340 is an HDMI 2.1 8K60 splitter with four outputs and audio extraction. The DS-55338 is an HDMI 2.0 4K60 splitter with eight outputs and a downscaler, but without audio extraction ports.
Singular Expert Insight
The DIGITUS DS-55340 is the right choice when a single 8K or high-end 4K source has to reach four displays and the audio must go to a separate sound system. For two screens the DS-55339 offers the same features in a smaller housing; for eight 4K screens the DS-55338 is better value. Explore all video splitters.
✓ Buy it if you need four HDMI 2.1 outputs up to 8K 60Hz plus optical audio out.
✕ Skip it if your equipment is 4K 60Hz only — an HDMI 2.0 splitter costs less.
→ Also consider DIGITUS DS-55339 for two 8K outputs, or DIGITUS DS-55337 for a 4K60 1x4 split.
