The DIGITUS DN-91608S-SL-EA is a 8-port CAT 6A shielded patch panel for a 10-inch mini rack in just half a unit (0.5U), or on a wall. It carries 8 shielded RJ45 ports rated CAT 6A Class EA up to 500 MHz for 10 Gigabit and listed for PoE and PoE+, with colour-coded LSA terminations, in a slim black steel housing only half a rack unit high. In practice every cable from the wall outlets is terminated once at the back and stays put, while short patch cords at the front connect the ports to your switch — so moving a desk or a phone is a one-cable change at the panel, not new cabling.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check before buying: It is a 10″ panel: it fits 10″ mini racks and will not fill a 19″ rack slot without a 10″-to-19″ adapter. Shielding only helps with shielded cable (F/UTP, S/FTP) whose shield is terminated and the panel earthed; with UTP cable it works as a normal panel. The DN-91608S looks similar but is CAT 6, 1U, 250 MHz — this one is CAT 6A, 0.5U, 500 MHz. Not sure it suits your cabinet or cable? Send us the rack or cable type and we check it.

Colour-coded LSA terminations take 22–26 AWG solid or stranded conductors with an LSA (Krone) tool; a quick-release cover gives access.

Planning Match the number of panel ports to your switch ports and allow one short patch cord per port; leave spare ports for future outlets.
Terminating Strip only as much jacket as needed, keep the pairs twisted up to the contacts and follow one wiring scheme (T568A or T568B) throughout the building.
Testing Test every run with a cable tester before patching it into the switch — it finds swapped pairs and poor terminations before users do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my rack?
This is a 10″ rack panel, 0.5U. It fits 10-inch mini racks and small cabinets; for a 19-inch rack you need a 10-to-19-inch adapter, or choose a 19-inch panel instead. Send us your cabinet model and we check the fit.
What tool do I need to terminate it?
An LSA (Krone) punch-down tool for the LSA terminations. No tool is included.
Do I need shielded cable?
To benefit from the shielding, yes: use shielded cable (F/UTP or S/FTP), terminate the shield properly and earth the panel. With ordinary UTP cable it still works, but the shielding adds nothing.
Is it fast enough for my network?
It is rated Class EA, up to 500 MHz for 10GBase-T (10 Gigabit). The whole link — cable, outlets, patch cords — must be at least the same category to reach that speed. For 10 Gigabit over longer runs, the full link must be Cat6A.
