The DN-CSP-150 is a pack of 150 mechanical crimp protectors for optical-fibre splice points. After the fibre has been spliced using suitable equipment, a protector closes around the sensitive joint and fixes the 900µm secondary coating. It protects an existing splice; it does not make the optical connection. The package contains protectors only. Suitable fibre-splicing equipment, a compatible crimping tool and an appropriate splice cassette or enclosure are required separately.

Before you order:
Check the crimping tool, 900µm coating arrangement, cassette geometry and 30 × 1.2 × 3.3mm protector dimensions. Mechanical closure is the specified method; this is not a heat-shrink sleeve. No IP rating or waterproof sealing is claimed.

What It Means in Practice

  • In a distribution panel, complete and inspect the fibre splice, fit one protector using the appropriate crimping process, then snap or slide it into a compatible splice cassette. The 150-piece pack serves up to 150 individual protected splice points.

What Will Not Work

  • It does not replace a splicer, crimping tool, fibre connector, cable or protective enclosure. A protector does not repair an incorrectly made splice.
