The DIGITUS DN-3023 is a USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet adapter that adds a 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port to a laptop or desktop through a standard USB Type-A port. It is a quick fix for notebooks without a network socket, PCs with a failed onboard LAN, and workstations that need a second network connection without opening the case.

The adapter is powered from the USB port (200 mA) and is downward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1, although full Gigabit speed needs USB 3.0. DIGITUS lists Wake-on-LAN, IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, full-duplex flow control and an extra power-saving mode that kicks in when no cable is connected, which helps laptop battery life.

DIGITUS publishes support for Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista and XP, and Mac OS 10.x, with drivers available on the manufacturer's download page.

DIGITUS describes it as plug-and-play and offers drivers for Windows and Mac on its download page for systems that do not detect it automatically.
Why is my speed below 1 Gbps?
Check that the adapter is in a USB 3.0 port (blue or SS-marked), the switch port is Gigabit, and the cable is Cat5e or better.
Can I use it in a USB hub?
Yes, as long as the hub is USB 3.0. Bandwidth is shared with other devices on the hub.
Does it work with a Nintendo Switch or TV box?
DIGITUS only publishes Windows and Mac support, so other devices are not confirmed.
