The DIGITUS DN-91624S is a 24-port Cat 6 shielded 19-inch 1U patch panel in light grey (RAL 7035). It mounts in a 19-inch rack or cabinet and takes up 1U. Installation cable is punched down on the back with an LSA (Krone) punch-down tool, and the 24 RJ45 sockets on the front take ordinary patch cords, rated for Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T). In practice it gives the cables coming from wall outlets and ceilings a fixed, labelled end point next to your switch, so that moves and changes are made with short patch cords at the panel instead of re-terminating installation cable. When the network grows, you add a panel and a few patch cords rather than pulling new cable to every desk, and a clearly numbered panel makes it quick to find which outlet a fault or a new device is on.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the shielded, grey 1U model — the unshielded twin is DN-91624U, and the black 0.5U high-density version is DN-91624S-SL-SH. The ports are fixed and terminated with an LSA (Krone) punch-down tool, which is not in the box. As a shielded panel it only gives its full screening with shielded cable and a grounded rack or earth point; DIGITUS does not list an earthing wire in the box. Do I need a special tool?
Yes. The installation cable is terminated on the back with an LSA (Krone) punch-down tool, which is not included. If you order the panel with cable, tell us and we add a suitable tool.
Will it carry 10 Gbit/s?
It is a Cat 6 panel for Gigabit Ethernet. 10GBase-T over Cat 6 only works on short runs and is not what this panel is rated for; for 10 Gbit/s choose a Cat 6A panel.
Does it fit my rack?
It fits standard 19-inch racks and cabinets and takes up 1U. Send us the rack model if you want us to check depth and free space.
Does it need to be grounded?
Yes, for the shield to work. Connect the panel to the rack or building earth. With unshielded cable the shield has no effect.
