DIGITUS DS-12862 2-Port Dual-Monitor DisplayPort KVM Switch

2 computers · 2 monitorsDisplayPort · 4K 60HzAudio switchingCables included

The DIGITUS DS-12862 is a 2-port dual-monitor DisplayPort KVM switch that lets two computers share two DisplayPort screens, a USB keyboard and mouse, and speakers, at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz per display in 4:4:4 colour. Part number DS-12862 ships with the DisplayPort and KVM cables for both computers and switches by front button or keyboard hotkeys.

Compatibility note: Each computer needs two DisplayPort outputs (or a dock providing two independent DP streams) to use both monitors. The front USB port is USB 2.0 full-speed, for low-bandwidth devices. DIGITUS does not publish the DisplayPort version.

Key Features

Two 4K60 screens per computer
Four DP inputs (2 x 2) feed two DP console outputs, so an extended two-monitor desktop moves between computers in one switch.

Cables for both machines
Two DisplayPort cables and two combined DP/USB/audio KVM cables are included, so a complete dual-head setup needs nothing extra.

Bus powered, platform independent
Runs from USB power with an optional 9 V adapter, works with Windows, macOS and Linux, and passes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect a laptop with one DisplayPort output to the DIGITUS DS-12862?
Yes, but only one monitor will switch for it. To drive both screens, the laptop needs a second video output, for example via a USB-C dock that provides two separate DisplayPort signals.
Does the DS-12862 support 4K at 60 Hz on both monitors?
Yes. DIGITUS rates it at 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz in 4:4:4, so two 4K60 monitors work, provided the computers and cables support it.
What is the difference between the DS-12862 and the DS-12860?
Both are 2-port, dual-monitor switches with the same body. The DS-12862 uses DisplayPort and reaches 4K60; the DS-12860 uses HDMI 1.4b and is limited to 4K30.
Singular Expert Insight
The DS-12862 is the one to choose for a two-screen engineering or finance desk where both computers have dual DisplayPort outputs and 4K60 matters. With cables included it is good value; for HDMI screens or a single monitor, compare the other models in our KVM switch range.
✓ Buy it if two computers each need to drive the same pair of 4K60 DisplayPort monitors.
✕ Skip it if your computers have only one video output or use HDMI.
→ Also consider the DIGITUS DS-12860 for dual HDMI, or the Club 3D CSV-7210 for two screens from one DP link on Windows.
