DIGITUS DS-12880 4-Port HDMI KVM Switch

4 computers · 1 displayHDMI 1.4b · 4K 30HzAudio switching4 KVM cables included

The DIGITUS DS-12880 is a 4-port HDMI KVM switch that lets four computers share one HDMI display, a USB keyboard and mouse, and speakers, at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz in 4:4:4 colour. Part number DS-12880 includes four combined HDMI/USB/audio KVM cables, switches by front button or hotkeys, and runs from USB bus power.

Compatibility note: The DS-12880 is an HDMI 1.4b design: 4K is limited to 30 Hz, while 1080p runs at 60 Hz. The front USB port is USB 2.0 full-speed, intended for low-bandwidth devices rather than fast storage. An optional 9 V DC adapter can be added if bus power is insufficient.

Four computers, one desk
Control up to four PCs, servers or media players from one keyboard, mouse and HDMI screen, with LEDs showing the active port.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the DIGITUS DS-12880 suitable for a 4K monitor?
It works, but at 30 Hz, which suits monitoring, dashboards and office documents. For smooth 4K60 across four sources, choose a DisplayPort model such as the DIGITUS DS-12891.
Can I use the DS-12880 to manage servers in a small rack or IT closet?
Yes. Four servers or PCs with HDMI and USB can share one console. It is a desktop unit, so place it on a shelf rather than in a 19-inch rack slot.
Does the DS-12880 need a power adapter?
Usually not: it is powered over USB from the connected computers. DIGITUS offers an optional 9 V DC adapter for setups where bus power is weak.
Singular Expert Insight
The DS-12880 is a practical choice for IT admins or small offices controlling four HDMI machines where 4K at 30 Hz or Full HD at 60 Hz is enough, and where having all four KVM cables in the box keeps the job simple. For 4K60 on four sources, step up to a DisplayPort model in our KVM switch range.
✓ Buy it if you need to control four HDMI computers from one console with cables included.
✕ Skip it if you need 4K at 60 Hz or a fast USB 3.0 port for storage.
→ Also consider the DIGITUS DS-12891 for 4-port DisplayPort 4K60, or the Argus AS-42HA for four dual-monitor PCs.
