The DIGITUS DS-55318 is a wireless HDMI extender set — one transmitter and one receiver dongle — that sends Full HD video (up to 1080p/60) and stereo audio from a source to a screen up to 50 m away in clear line of sight. It suits meeting rooms, waiting areas, home cinema projectors and short-term installs where you want the source on the desk and the picture on a distant screen without running a cable.
Both units plug straight into HDMI ports and can draw power from the HDMI port itself (at least 0.5 A), or from the supplied Micro-USB cables connected to any USB port. They pair automatically on the best available Wi-Fi channel; there is no driver, app or network setup.
Before you order: 50 m is the manufacturer figure with unobstructed line of sight. Walls, glass and people reduce range or interrupt the picture. Many TV and laptop HDMI ports cannot supply 0.5 A — use the Micro-USB power cables if the units do not light up.

- Latency is about 120 ms — fine for presentations, TV and video, noticeable in fast games.
- The short HDMI extension cables help where the HDMI port is recessed or crowded.
- The link is encrypted with WPA2, so neighbours cannot receive the picture.
What Will Not Work
- No 4K: maximum resolution is Full HD 1920x1080 at 60Hz.
- No keyboard, mouse or IR remote back-channel.
- Not for one-to-many distribution — it pairs one transmitter with one receiver.
- Distance through walls is not guaranteed.
- Not for outdoor or damp areas (0–40°C, indoor use).
