DIGITUS 4K HDBaseT HDMI Extender Set — 4K/60Hz up to 120 m, Full HD up to 150 m
HDBaseT 4K/60Hz 4:4:4Up to 150 mHDR10+ · Dolby VisionRS-232 + IR control
The DIGITUS DS-55508 is a professional HDBaseT HDMI extender set that carries 4K/60Hz (4:4:4, 18 Gbps) video with HDR, plus RS-232 and bidirectional IR control, over a single copper network cable. DIGITUS rates it up to 120 m for 4K and up to 150 m for Full HD — enough for lecture halls, large conference rooms, hotel lobbies, stadium bars and control rooms.
Power over Cable (PoC) means only one unit needs the supplied 24V power supply. The transmitter offers an HDMI loop-out for a local monitor; the receiver adds a 3.5 mm stereo audio output for a nearby amplifier or speakers, and both ends have RS-232 for sending control commands to a projector or display.
Before you order: DIGITUS also states HDBaseT 1.0 via CAT 6A/7/8 up to 100 m. For runs beyond 100 m and for 4K/60, use high-quality solid-core CAT 6A or better and keep the run continuous; send us your planned distance and cable type and we will confirm before you order.

What It Means in Practice
- Single CAT cable carries video, audio, IR, RS-232 and power (PoC) between the two units.
- Use RS-232 to switch a projector or display on/off from a control system at the source end.
- The 3.5 mm audio output on the receiver feeds a local amplifier without extra HDMI audio extractors.
- CEC pass-through lets compatible devices control each other through the link.
What Will Not Work
- Not routable over a LAN switch — HDBaseT is point-to-point.
- No USB/keyboard-mouse extension (no KVM).
- Not one-to-many: one transmitter feeds one receiver.
- The longest distances need good cable; CCA or patched runs will shorten reach.
- Not for outdoor use (0–40°C).

Can I control the projector through it?
Yes. RS-232 commands and IR signals are passed between the two ends.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The DS-55508 is the one to pick when distance, 4K/60 HDR and control all matter in the same install. Budget for proper solid-core CAT 6A
network cables — at 100 m and beyond, cable quality decides whether you get a stable picture.
✓ Buy it if you are installing 4K/60Hz HDR over long runs and need RS-232/IR control in a professional AV setup.
✕ Skip it if your run is short and simple (DS-55506 covers 4K/60 up to 60 m) or you need KVM or network routing.
→ Also consider DIGITUS DS-55506 (4K/60, up to 70 m, PoC) or DS-55351 (4K/60 over IP, up to 200 m, multi-screen).
