The DIGITUS DN-CSP-015 is a strip of 15 mechanical crimp splice protectors that protect optical fibers after splicing. Instead of shrinking a sleeve with heat, the protector is closed around the spliced fiber with a mechanical crimp, which is quick and needs no oven.
The protectors measure 30 × 1.2 × 3.3 mm and snap into standard splice cassettes without adding insertion loss. They resist crushing, pulling and puncturing and can be used in enclosed and open environments; DIGITUS lists telecom approval TS 0338/96.
Before you order: These are crimp protectors, not heat-shrink sleeves. Your splice cassette must have holders for crimp-type protectors — many cassettes, including the DIGITUS DN-96893/DN-96894 DIN-rail distributors, accept both types.
