The DIGITUS DN-96200-QL is an empty 19-inch, 1U fiber optic splice box housing with a sliding tray and the DIGITUS quick lock system, supplied without front panel. It is the base for building your own splice box: you pick the front panel, couplers, pigtails and splice cassettes from the DIGITUS range to match your fibre class and connectors.
The carrier housing is 1.0 mm sheet steel, painted light grey (RAL 7035), with a holder for splice cassettes, punch-outs for fixing pigtails on the extendible base and M20/M25 cable entries. Inner dimensions are approx. 44 × 428 × 240 mm (H × W × D).
Before you order: Delivered empty: no front panel, couplers, pigtails or splice cassette. You need at least a quick lock front panel (e.g. DN-96203-QL 6x SC DX, DN-96201-QL 12x SC DX, DN-96206-QL 12x LC DX, DN-96208-QL 6x SC SX / LC DX) plus couplers and pigtails.

What It Means in Practice
- Lets you mix and match: change from SC to LC, or multimode to single-mode, by swapping the front panel and couplers instead of the whole box.
- Sliding tray pulls forward for splicing and service while the box stays in the rack.
- The quick lock front panels snap in and out, so re-configuration does not need tools.
- For a single, fixed job a pre-equipped DIGITUS splice box is usually quicker and cheaper overall.
What Will Not Work
- It will not terminate any fibre on its own — a front panel and couplers are required.
- Front panels from non-quick-lock DIGITUS boxes or other brands will not fit.
- Not for 10-inch racks or wall mounting.
- No splice cassette, pigtails, patch cords or tools are included.
