The DIGITUS DN-949103 is an FTTH home distribution unit — the building entry point where the operator or installer fiber is spliced and handed over to the in-house cabling. It arrives splice ready with 3 LC/APC duplex OS2 couplers and 6 pigtails fitted, in a lockable IP54 wall housing.
The housing has three parts: base plate, removable splice cassette (up to 12 couplings / 24 fibres) and a wall box with a lockable lid. Two inlets take 7/12 mm microducts (up to two gas blockers), there is a holder for a PLC splitter, and the fibre guide keeps bend radius under control.
Before you order: Single-mode OS2 with APC (green, angled) connectors only. In-house patch cords and the ONT side must be LC/APC single-mode; UPC or multimode cords will not give a usable link.

What It Means in Practice
- This is where the incoming FTTH drop is fusion-spliced; the in-house runs to each flat or room start from the LC/APC couplers.
- Ready for up to 3 duplex hand-overs as delivered; the cassette has room for up to 24 fibres.
- IP54 protects against dust and splashing water — suitable for basements, stairwells and technical rooms.
- Optical values published: insertion loss max. 0.20 dB, return loss min. 60 dB.
What Will Not Work
- UPC (blue) or multimode connectors will not mate correctly with the APC couplers.
- It does not include the drop cable, patch cords or a splitter.
- No splicing tools are included — a fusion splicer is needed on site.
- Not a 19-inch rack product.
