The DIGITUS DN-948050-2 is a complete FTTx installation kit for bringing fiber into a flat or house: a 50 m, 4-fibre single-mode drop cable pre-terminated with LC/APC at one end, plus a white surface-mount connection box with two LC/APC duplex couplers. It is for installers and operators who want to wire the in-home section (from the building distributor to the ONT location) quickly, with no field termination.
The cable is 2.4 mm, bend-optimised G.657A2, with 900 µm buffered fibres, aramid strain relief and a white LSOH jacket (I-V(ZN)H, CPR class B2ca). A sturdy pull eye protects the connectors while the cable is pulled through conduit; the open end is spliced or routed at the home distribution panel.
Before you order: Single-mode with APC (green, angled) connectors. The ONT patch cord and the building-side hand-over must also be single-mode LC/APC; UPC or multimode cords will not give a usable link.

What It Means in Practice
- Pull the pre-terminated end to the flat, fit it in the connection box, and the ONT connects with a short LC/APC patch cord.
- The open end goes to the building distributor, where it is spliced or stored.
- Choose the length to cover the full conduit route plus some slack — 50 m cannot be extended without a splice.
- Box: 4 ports, 2 equipped (2x LC/APC duplex), integrated splice cassette, smooth cable feed.
What Will Not Work
- UPC (blue) or multimode patch cords will not mate correctly with LC/APC.
- The open cable end still needs to be spliced or terminated at the building side.
- No ONT or patch cord is included.
- Indoor cable (I-V(ZN)H) — not for direct outdoor or buried installation.
