The Digitus DS-55356 is an HDMI KVM over IP receiver — a display-side unit that adds another 4K/60Hz screen with USB keyboard, mouse or touch control to a Digitus DS-55355 HDMI IP extender set, over a Gigabit network.
Use it when the DS-55355 set is in place and a second or third location must both see and operate the same source: a control room with several operator desks, a classroom touch display, or an exhibition terminal. Up to 253 receivers can be added through the switch.
Before you order: Receiver only — it needs the DS-55355 transmitter. Range is 200 m directly or 120 m per segment through a Gigabit switch. It is powered by its own 5V/1A adapter, not by PoE.

What It Means in Practice
- Another 4K/60Hz screen for the DS-55355 system, with keyboard, mouse or a touch display working back to the source.
- Connect it to the same Gigabit switch as the transmitter, or directly to it for a 200 m point-to-point link.
- Two USB 2.0 ports cover keyboard and mouse, or a touch screen.
- Latency is about 120–170 ms at 4K/60Hz and 80–110 ms at Full HD — fine for control and office tasks, not for fast gaming.
- A socket is needed near the screen for the included adapter.
What Will Not Work
- It does not work without the DS-55355 transmitter.
- It is not PoE powered.
- It is not a USB 3.0 extender — storage devices and high-bandwidth peripherals are not its purpose.
- It cannot operate over Wi-Fi or Powerline links.
- It does not replace a near-zero-latency HDBaseT extender where timing is critical.
