DIGITUS LC to ST OS2 Singlemode Fibre Patch Cable, Duplex, 3 m
OS2 SinglemodeLC – STDuplex · 2.0 mm3 m
The DIGITUS DK-2931-03 is a 3 m duplex singlemode fibre optic patch cord (OS2, 9/125 µm) with an LC duplex connector on one end and two ST connectors on the other — the cable you need when a modern LC-port device has to reach an older ST-terminated patch panel or media converter.
The fibre is bend-insensitive G.657.A2 in a slim 2 mm yellow LSZH (halogen-free) jacket, with ceramic ferrules and single-colour boots. Every cord is factory-terminated, packed individually and shipped with its own test report.
Before you order: Digitus does not state whether the end faces are UPC or APC. ST and LC duplex singlemode ports in enterprise networks are normally UPC (blue); if your panel or device has green (APC) ports, send us the model before you order.
What's in the Box
- 1 × DIGITUS LC–ST duplex singlemode OS2 patch cord, 3 m
- Test report
- Individual DIGITUS polybag
What It Means in Practice
- Connect an LC duplex SFP/SFP+ singlemode module (LX, LR, 1310 nm class) in a switch to an ST port on a legacy fibre panel or converter.
- Duplex means two fibres: one for transmit, one for receive. If the link does not come up, swap the two ST connectors on one side — that is normal with crossed polarity.
- G.657.A2 fibre tolerates tight routing in cabinets and trays far better than standard G.652 fibre, so the 3 m run can follow cable managers without losing signal.
- The 2 mm jacket is thinner than the older 3 mm style, which keeps dense rack fronts tidy.
- Keep the dust caps on until the moment you plug in, and never look into a connected fibre end — singlemode and multimode transmitters use invisible infrared light.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode equipment (SX modules, OM1–OM4 panels) — this is singlemode OS2 and will not give a usable link with multimode optics.
- SC, MPO or RJ45 copper ports — the ends are LC duplex and ST only.
- APC (green) ports, if your equipment uses them — the polish is not stated by Digitus, so check with us first.
- BiDi single-fibre modules need only one fibre; the second ST leg simply stays unused.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Mixed LC/ST links are where most fibre orders go wrong: the connectors are right but the mode or polish is not. This DIGITUS cord is OS2 singlemode with bend-insensitive fibre, so it suits LX/LR-class SFP modules in switches with SFP/SFP+ ports talking to an older ST panel. Count the length from port to port including the route through cable managers, not straight-line distance.
✓ Buy it if you need to link an LC duplex singlemode device to ST singlemode ports over 3 m.
✕ Skip it if your optics or panel are multimode, use SC ports, or are APC (green).
→ Also consider the 2 m version of this cord, or an LC–LC singlemode cord if both ends are LC.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
