The Digitus pre-assembled universal breakout cable (DK-2A338U100BK-BBB) is a 100 m factory-terminated fibre cable with 8 single-mode OS2 fibres, each ending in its own LC/UPC connector at both ends. It links two racks, floors or buildings with 4 duplex fibre links in one 6.0 mm cable — no splicing on site.
Each fibre is individually protected inside the breakout construction, and both ends are shipped inside a protective tube with a pulling aid, so the cable can be drawn through ducts with the connectors already fitted. Digitus supplies a test protocol with every cable and rates it for indoor and outdoor use, including links between cabinets without potential differences.
Before you order: measure the route before ordering — a pre-terminated cable cannot be shortened. It has LC/UPC connectors only; single-mode APC (green) ports and multimode equipment will not work.

What It Means in Practice
- Pull the cable through, remove the protective tubes and plug the LC connectors into panel couplers — the fibres are already terminated and tested.
- 8 fibres give 4 duplex links, or spare fibres for future growth.
- OS2 single-mode with bend-insensitive G.657.A1 fibre suits long building-to-building runs and 10G/25G/100G long-reach optics.
- Insertion loss is max. 0.3 dB and return loss min. 50 dB per connector, according to Digitus.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode (OM3/OM4) transceivers or panels.
- SC or APC ports without adapters or hybrid patch cords.
- Cutting to length on site: it is pre-terminated at both ends.
- Direct burial without a duct: Digitus lists indoor and outdoor use, not direct burial.
