DIGITUS DN-MO-8-8-SRS — Cat 5e Shielded RJ45 Modular Plug, Pack of 100
Cat 5e · shielded100 plugsStranded round cableTwo-piece with wire guide
The DIGITUS DN-MO-8-8-SRS is a pack of 100 shielded Cat 5e RJ45 (8P8C) crimp plugs for assembling your own patch cables from stranded round cable. It is aimed at installers and IT departments who make patch leads to length for 10/100Base-T and Gigabit Ethernet networks.
Each plug is a two-piece design: the eight wires are first threaded into a separate wire guide that keeps them in the correct order, and the guide is then pushed into the plug body before crimping. That makes the colour order easy to check and gives more consistent results than a one-piece plug, especially with fine stranded conductors.
Before you order: These plugs are for STRANDED (flexible patch) cable only, AWG 27/7 to 24/7. They are not suitable for solid-core installation cable, and they are Cat 5e — not intended for Cat 6 or Cat 6A links.
What's in the Box
- 100 × DIGITUS shielded Cat 5e RJ45 modular plugs (two-piece, with wire guides)
- No crimp tool and no strain-relief boots are listed in the scope of delivery
What It Means in Practice
- Use them with shielded (F/UTP, S/FTP) stranded patch cable so the plug shield connects to the cable screen.
- A standard RJ45 8P8C crimp tool is required to fit them.
- Gold-plated (0.6 µm) phosphor-bronze contacts are rated for more than 750 mating cycles, so they suit leads that are plugged and unplugged often.
- Operating range -40 to +80 °C covers cabinet and plant-room installations.
What Will Not Work
- Solid-core cable will not seat reliably — use plugs made for solid conductors.
- They are not rated for Cat 6/6A performance.
- Conductors outside AWG 27/7–24/7 will not fit the wire guide correctly.
- Without a crimp tool the plugs cannot be fitted.
Key Features
Two-piece wire guide
Wires are aligned in the guide first, which makes the T568A/B order easy to check before crimping.
Shielded body
Metal shield for use with screened cable in noisy environments.
Gold-plated contacts
Phosphor bronze, nickel, 0.6 µm gold — over 750 mating cycles, insertion force ≤ 30 N.
Standards
ISO/IEC 11801 3rd Ed., EN 50173-1, EIA/TIA 568-C; UL certified per DIGITUS.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use them on unshielded cable?
Yes, they will crimp onto unshielded stranded cable, but the shield then has no function. For UTP cable a non-shielded plug is the simpler choice.
Are boots included?
No strain-relief boots are listed. If you want boots, check that they fit a shielded plug with a wire guide.
Which crimp tool do I need?
Any standard RJ45 8P8C modular crimp tool. Tell us the model you have and we will confirm it suits shielded plugs.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Two-piece plugs with a wire guide are the forgiving choice for making Cat 5e patch leads from stranded cable — fewer mis-wired pairs and less rework. Match them to stranded cable of the right gauge, or buy ready-made
network cables if you only need a few leads.
✓ Buy it if you assemble shielded Cat 5e patch cables from stranded round cable and want 100 plugs at a time.
✕ Skip it if you are terminating solid installation cable or building Cat 6/6A links.
→ Also consider Ready-made shielded patch cables in the length you need.
