Digitus Fiber Optic Patch Cord OS2 LC/UPC to SC/UPC Duplex Singlemode 9/125 G.657.A2 LSZH 5m Yellow

The Digitus DK-2932-05 is a 5 m duplex OS2 singlemode fibre patch cord with LC on one end and SC on the other, for connecting singlemode LR/LX/BiDi transceivers, switches, media converters and patch panels. OS2 singlemode (9/125 µm) is the fibre for long-reach optics at 1310/1550 nm — LR, LX, ER and BiDi transceivers, building backbones, FTTH and carrier hand-offs.

Both ends: LC — the small latching connector used by SFP, SFP+ and SFP28 transceivers and most modern patch panels; and SC — the square push-pull connector common on older switches, media converters, wall outlets and distribution frames.

• Duplex means two fibres side by side, one transmit and one receive. The cord crosses Tx to Rx for you; if a link stays dark after patching, swap the two connectors on one end — it is the most common fibre patching mistake.
• 5 m is the right length between racks in a row, or from the rack to a fibre outlet across the room. Order the shortest length that reaches without tension — excess fibre has to be coiled in the cable manager.
• The fibre is ITU-T G.657.A2 bend-insensitive, so it tolerates tight routing in cable managers much better than standard fibre — but avoid kinks and sharp edges all the same.
• LSZH jacket — low smoke, zero halogen — the expected choice for offices, server rooms and public buildings.
• Keep the dust caps on until the moment you plug in. A dirty ferrule is the number one cause of high loss; clean the end faces if the ports have been left open.

• Multimode optics (SR, SX) — they need an OM3/OM4 multimode cord; singlemode fibre does not substitute.
• Ports with ST, MTP/MPO, E2000 connectors — this cord terminates in LC and SC only.
• Green APC (8° angled) ports, as found on many FTTH/GPON terminals — this cord is UPC; you need an APC cord there.
• Copper RJ45 ports — fibre needs an SFP/fibre port or a media converter on each side.
