The Digitus Professional DK-29221-02 is a set of 12 SC simplex pigtails on OS2 single-mode 9/125 µm fibre, each 2 m long, for terminating single-mode cables by fusion splicing in a patch panel, splice box or wall outlet.
Each pigtail has a factory-polished SC connector on one end and bare fibre on the other. The twelve buffers are colour-coded to IEC 60304, so fibre 1 to 12 of a cable can be spliced and labelled without confusion.
Before you order: Pigtails are spliced, not plugged: you need a fusion splicer, splice protection sleeves and a splice tray/cassette. Digitus does not publish the polish type (UPC or APC) – if your system uses green APC connectors, tell us before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- Strip and cleave the bare end, fusion-splice it to the incoming cable fibre, and park the splice in the tray – the SC end then plugs into the coupler on the front of your panel or box.
- 2 m is the usual pigtail length: enough to route around the splice cassette and still re-splice a few times if needed.
- Twelve colours match a 12-fibre cable or two 6-fibre cables, so the fibre order on the front of the panel follows the cable colour code.
- SC is the square push-pull connector used on many FTTx boxes, older switches and media converters; for LC panels use LC pigtails instead.
What Will Not Work
- Not plug-and-play – without a fusion splicer (or a mechanical splice) the bare end cannot be connected.
- Not for multimode OM1–OM5 cable – this is single-mode 9/125 µm fibre and the cores will not match.
- Not for LC or ST couplers – the connector is SC.
- Not for APC systems unless the polish is confirmed – APC and flat-polished connectors must never be mated.

The only real decisions are connector type (SC here), fibre type (OS2) and the polish. Pair them with matching SC couplers in a splice box or a panel from our rack accessories.
