The Digitus DN-81222-02 is a 2 m SFP+ to SFP+ direct attach copper (DAC) cable coded for Hewlett Packard (HP/Aruba) equipment, for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links between switches, servers and storage in the same rack or neighbouring racks.

Digitus also lists HP ProCurve and H3C as compatible. The SFP+ ends are fixed to the AWG 30 twinax cable, so no separate transceivers or fibre are needed. If your switch is not HP/Aruba, the MSA-coded Digitus DN-81222 is the matching cable.

Before you order: This is the HP/Aruba-coded version. For Cisco, Ubiquiti, MikroTik, TP-Link and other MSA-standard switches choose the Digitus DN-81222 (MSA) instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need SFP+ modules too?
No. The SFP+ connectors are part of the cable; you only need a free SFP+ port on each device.
Which version for a mixed HP and Cisco link?
Both ends carry the same coding. If one side rejects HP coding, the link will not come up — send us both switch models and we will suggest the right cable.
Can it run 1G?
Digitus lists Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps) among the supported rates, but whether a port accepts a DAC at 1G depends on the switch.

For HP/Aruba switches with SFP+ uplinks, a 2 m DAC is the cheapest and simplest 10G link inside a rack or between neighbouring racks. The only real decision is coding: this one is HP/Aruba; everything else should get the MSA DN-81222.
✓ Buy it if at least one end is an HP/Aruba switch that checks coding and the run is up to 2 m.
✕ Skip it if your gear is Cisco, Ubiquiti, MikroTik or another MSA brand, or your ports are RJ45.
