The DN-95123 regenerates an Ethernet and PoE link through an additional cable segment without needing a local power socket. Its upstream PoE supply powers the extender and the compatible downstream device, making it useful for cameras, phones or access points beyond a standard single cable run.

Before you order:
Check the PoE source, endpoint power demand and cable gauge before choosing the distance. The manual’s 500 m example applies to a load below 4 W with an 802.3at source and cascaded extenders. A PoE+ endpoint below 22 W is illustrated at up to 200 m with an at source, not 500 m. Indoor use only.

What It Means in Practice

  • Each extender adds a regenerated segment of up to 100 m; longer routes require additional units and consume part of the available PoE budget.

What Will Not Work

  • An ordinary non-PoE Ethernet port cannot power this extender.
  • The maximum range and maximum output power cannot be assumed simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it provide 22 W at 500 m?
Do not assume that. The manual’s longest example is for a load below 4 W; its PoE+ example below 22 W reaches up to 200 m with an 802.3at source.
Does it need a nearby mains outlet?
No local PSU is required. It draws power from the upstream IEEE 802.3af/at PoE source, whose capacity must cover the extender and endpoint.

Best for a planned indoor copper link where the endpoint’s real consumption is known. Work backwards from the device load and the manual’s source/distance table; for long routes with larger loads, compare fibre plus local power or a suitable powered switch instead of assuming unlimited PoE extension.
