The DIGITUS DN-97648 is a 1U fixed shelf with adjustable-depth mounting rails for 19-inch network and server cabinets of 1000 mm depth or more, carrying up to 50 kg on a perforated steel tray in light grey RAL 7035 — the standard way to hold a non-rackmount server, NAS, UPS, modem or desktop PC securely inside a rack.
Because it is fixed at four points, front and rear, the load sits on all four 19" profile rails instead of hanging from the front ones, which is why it can take 50 kg. The rails slide to match the distance between your front and rear rails, up to a mounting depth of 900 mm, and the full M6 installation set is in the box.
Before you order: This shelf needs front AND rear 19" rails in a cabinet of at least 1000 mm depth. It will not fit a 600 or 800 mm deep cabinet, a wallmount cabinet or a 2-post open frame. For shallower cabinets DIGITUS makes other depth versions — send us your cabinet model and we will pick the right one. Make sure you order the colour that matches your rack: DN-97648 is Grey RAL 7035, the black version is DN-97649.

What It Means in Practice
- 50 kg spread over four mounting points is enough for a tower server, a NAS with drives or a heavy line-interactive UPS.
- The perforated steel tray lets air pass through, so equipment on the shelf does not trap heat against the tray.
- Only 1U of rack height is used by the shelf itself; the device sitting on it uses whatever height it needs above.
- Adjustable rails mean the shelf also works if your rear rails are not at the factory position.
What Will Not Work
- It will not fit cabinets shallower than 1000 mm or racks without rear 19" rails.
- It is a fixed shelf — it does not slide out for service access; for pull-out access choose an extendible shelf.
- It will not fit a 2-post relay rack or wall bracket.
- The 50 kg rating assumes 4-point fixing; hanging it from the front rails only is not a supported installation.
