The DIGITUS DN-96002-1 is an ST/ST simplex fiber optic coupler for multimode links, with a metal housing and ceramic alignment sleeve. It is a replacement or expansion part for splice boxes and fiber patch panels with ST cut-outs, typically in older multimode installations that still use bayonet ST connectors.
Each coupler comes with dust protection caps for the ferrule openings and the mounting material needed to fix it straight to the front panel.
Before you order: ST is a legacy bayonet connector. Check that your panel has ST cut-outs and that the patch cords on both sides are ST multimode before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- One coupler joins two ST simplex connectors — one fibre. A transmit/receive pair needs two couplers.
- Typical use: repairing or extending an existing multimode ST installation without replacing the panel.
- To connect ST cabling to modern LC-port switches, use ST-to-LC multimode patch cords from the coupler to the switch.
What Will Not Work
- Single-mode ST links: this coupler is multimode.
- SC, LC or FC connectors will not fit — ST only.
- Panels with SC or LC cut-outs cannot take an ST coupler.
