The DIGITUS DN-3026-1 is a USB 3.0 to Gigabit SFP network adapter that adds an SFP slot to a notebook or PC, so it can connect directly to a fibre-optic network through a 1000 Mbps SX or LX SFP transceiver. It suits technicians, labs and offices with fibre to the desk.

It is based on the Realtek RTL8153 chipset, is powered from the USB port (2.5 W) and has a 17 cm attached USB-A cable. DIGITUS lists support for Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and other USB 3.0 systems.

Before you order: no SFP module is included. You need a 1000 Mbps (1G) SX or LX SFP transceiver that matches your fibre type (multimode or single-mode) and connector.

What Will Not Work

  • It does not support 10G SFP+ modules — only 1000 Mbps SX/LX transceivers are listed.
  • It has no RJ45 port; for copper Ethernet use a USB-to-RJ45 adapter instead.
  • It works on USB 2.0 ports, but throughput is then limited by USB 2.0 rather than Gigabit speed.
