DIGITUS AK-300340-005-W USB-A to USB-C Cable — 480 Mbit/s, 0.5 m
USB 2.0480 Mbit/s60 W rated0.5 m
The DIGITUS AK-300340-005-W is a 0.5 m USB-A to USB-C cable with up to 480 Mbit/s (USB 2.0 Hi-Speed) data transfer and a 60 W (20 V / 3 A) cable rating per DIGITUS, made for anyone connecting a USB-C phone, tablet, drive or accessory to a computer, charger, car socket or hub that has USB-A ports.
At 480 Mbit/s this is a charge-and-sync cable: right for phones, tablets, game controllers, keyboards, mice, headsets, e-readers and small USB-C gadgets. Copying a few photos or a document is fine; moving hundreds of gigabytes is not what it is for.
Before you order, check two things: the socket on your device must be USB-C (not Micro-USB or Lightning), and the port you plug into must be USB-A. If both your charger and your device are USB-C, a USB-C to USB-C cable is the better buy because it supports USB Power Delivery.
Before you order: DIGITUS rates this cable for 60 W (20 V / 3 A), but USB-A ports and chargers do not support USB Power Delivery. In practice the charging speed is set by the USB-A charger and is usually far below 60 W; for 60 W laptop charging use a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C PD charger.
What's in the Box
- 1 × DIGITUS silicone USB-A to USB-C cable, 0.5 m, white
What It Means in Practice
- Length 0.5 m: short — tidy on a desk, next to a laptop, power bank or car socket; too short to use a phone comfortably while it charges from a wall socket.
- Charging: a 60 W (20 V / 3 A) cable rating per DIGITUS — enough for phones, tablets, earbuds and controllers from a standard USB-A charger or computer port.
- Works with wall chargers, PCs, laptops, car sockets, power banks and USB hubs that have USB-A ports.
- Plug-and-play: no driver needed on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android or iPadOS.
What Will Not Work
- No video: it will not drive a USB-C monitor, portable display or projector — USB-A has no DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- No USB Power Delivery: a USB-C laptop that needs 45–100 W will charge very slowly or not at all from a USB-A port through this cable.
- Not a Thunderbolt or USB4 cable, and it will not turn a USB-A port into a USB-C port for USB-C-only chargers.
- Do not order it by mistake instead of AK-300340-005-S (black).

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fast-charge my USB-C laptop?
Usually not. Laptops charge over USB Power Delivery, which needs a USB-C charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable. From a USB-A port you get standard USB charging, which can at best slow the battery drain on some laptops.
Does it work with an iPhone 15 or newer?
Yes — iPhone 15 and later use USB-C, so the cable charges and syncs them from a USB-A charger, computer or car socket at standard USB speed.
Will it work in a USB 2.0 or USB 3 port?
Yes. USB is backward compatible: the cable works in any USB-A port and the connection runs at the slower of the port, cable and device speeds.
Can I use it in the car?
Yes, in any USB-A car socket or 12 V USB-A adapter. Charging speed depends on the socket: many built-in car ports give only 0.5–1 A.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The point of this cable is the silicone jacket: it stays soft, coils without memory and copes with being bent around a bag or car console every day. Treat the 60 W figure as a cable rating; on USB-A the charger decides the real speed. If you are pairing it with storage, match the cable to the drive — see our
USB flash drives.
✓ Buy it if you want a short, soft, tangle-free cable for a USB-C phone in the car, a bag or on the bedside table.
✕ Skip it if you expect 60 W laptop charging from a USB-A port, or need USB 3 speed.
→ Also consider For a USB-C laptop or a USB-C charger, a USB-C to USB-C cable with Power Delivery; for drives, match the cable speed to the drive.
