DIGITUS DS-55358 Video Wall Controller for 4 Displays

4x HDMI out · 4K/30HzHDMI 2.0 + USB-C in2x2 · 4x1 · 1x4 layoutsHDCP 2.2

The DIGITUS DS-55358 is a standalone video wall controller that takes one HDMI 2.0 or USB-C source and spreads it across up to four HDMI displays at 4K/30Hz each, for digital signage, reception screens and control rooms. Part number DS-55358 needs no PC software or drivers: pick the layout (2x2, 1x2 to 1x4 or 2x1 to 4x1) with the included IR remote, or automate it over RS232.

Compatibility note: The USB-C input needs a source port with DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP 1.2a) — charge-only or data-only USB-C ports will not pass video. Outputs run at 4K/30Hz, which suits signage and static content better than fast motion or gaming.

Key Features

Eight wall layouts
1x1, 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4 and 2x2 — horizontal strips, vertical columns or a classic 2x2 wall from a single source.

Two input options
HDMI 2.0 (4K/60Hz) for media players and PCs, plus USB-C with DP 1.2a Alt Mode (4K/60Hz) for laptops, without an adapter.

Control and integration
IR remote with IR extension cable for rack or ceiling installs, RS232 pass-through via terminal block, analogue 3.5 mm and S/PDIF audio out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the DIGITUS DS-55358 need a computer or software to run the video wall?
No. It is a hardware controller: connect a source to HDMI or USB-C, connect up to four HDMI displays, and select the layout with the remote or over RS232. No drivers or PC software are required.
Can I use the DS-55358 with a laptop over USB-C?
Yes, if the laptop USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP 1.2a or later). Thunderbolt 3/4 and most USB4 ports qualify; USB-C ports without video output will not work.
Is 4K/30Hz per display enough for a video wall?
For signage, menus, dashboards and slideshows, yes. Each display still shows its section at up to 4K; the 30Hz limit mainly affects fast motion video and interactive or gaming content.

Singular Expert Insight

The DS-55358 is a practical entry point for a 2x2 or strip-style signage wall in a shop, lobby or meeting room: one source, four screens, no PC-based wall software. Pair it with thin-bezel commercial displays from our commercial monitors range for the cleanest seams.
✓ Buy it if you need a simple 4-screen wall from one HDMI or USB-C source with remote or RS232 control.
✕ Skip it if you need 60Hz on every output or more than four displays — step up to a dedicated matrix/video wall processor.
→ Also consider a 1-to-4 HDMI splitter if you only need the same full image mirrored on four screens.
