The DURABLE RFID SECURE passport cover (214401) is a black protective sleeve that shields the chip in a biometric passport from unauthorised wireless reading at 13.56 MHz — the frequency used by e-passport, NFC and contactless card chips — while also protecting the document from wear when you travel.

DURABLE states that the shielding is TÜV-certified. The cover is portrait format, opens to the middle and holds one document. Its inner size is 189 x 129 mm (outer 194 x 133 mm), sized for a standard passport booklet. Take the passport out of the cover when you hand it over at a border or check-in desk, so the chip can be read when you want it to be.
