DYMO LabelManager 160 Label Maker — QWERTZ, D1 Tape to 12 mm
QWERTZ KeyboardD1 Tape 6, 9 and 12 mm228 Symbols and Clip Art6 × AAA — Not Included
The DYMO LabelManager 160 is DYMO's simplest handheld label maker: a keypad, a graphical display and a manual cutter, printing thermal-transfer labels onto DYMO D1 tape in 6, 9 and 12 mm. This entry is part number 2174611, the standard unit with a QWERTZ keyboard, supplied with a D1 starter cassette but no batteries and no case.
One-touch Smart Keys jump straight to formatting rather than making you walk through menus, and the display previews the label before it prints. Six font sizes, eight text styles, four box styles with underline, vertical text, accented characters and 228 symbols and clip-art images cover home and small-office labelling. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
⚠️ This part number has a QWERTZ keyboard — the German and central-European layout, with Y and Z swapped compared with the QWERTY keyboards used in Cyprus. DYMO sells the same machine with a QWERTY keyboard as part number 2174612, with an AZERTY keyboard as 2174450, and as a QWERTZ value pack with three tape cassettes as 2181012. Know the limits before ordering: the 160 accepts D1 cassettes in 6, 9 and 12 mm only (no 19 mm), prints a maximum of two lines (one line only on 6 mm tape), has no barcode function, and has no label memory — it recalls the last label printed, but does not store a set of labels the way the 210D+, 280 or 360D do, and the current label is lost if the batteries are removed. It is a standalone device with no USB port and no PC or app connection. Power is 6 × AAA alkaline batteries, which are not included, and there is no mains adapter in the box — the DYMO 9 V adapter is a separate accessory. ⚠️ Note: DYMO's own website currently shows a rechargeable battery and PC connectivity on its LabelManager 160 page. That is a content error on DYMO's side — the official user guide specifies AAA alkaline batteries and no PC connection.

Key Features
One-Touch Smart Keys
Dedicated keys reach formatting directly instead of through menus, which is the whole point of a machine at this level: pick it up, type, print, put it down.
228 Symbols and Clip Art
Six font sizes, eight text styles, four box styles with underline, vertical text and accented characters, plus 228 built-in symbols and clip-art images for warning, household and office labelling.
Graphical Preview and Manual Cutter
The display previews the label with its formatting before printing, and an integrated push-button cutter trims it — no scissors, no wasted tape.
Standard D1 Tape
Takes the same widely available DYMO D1 cassettes as the rest of the LabelManager range, in Standard and Durable, so tape is easy to source in black on white, clear, yellow and other colours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the LabelManager 160 come with batteries or a charger?
No. It runs on 6 × AAA alkaline batteries which are not supplied, and there is no mains adapter in the box — the DYMO 9 V adapter is an optional accessory. Budget for batteries with your order.
Can the LabelManager 160 save labels?
No. Unlike the 210D+, 280 and 360D, which store nine labels, the 160 only recalls the last label printed — and that is lost if you take the batteries out. If you repeat the same labels regularly, choose one of those models instead.
Does it take 19 mm tape or print barcodes?
Neither. The 160 accepts D1 cassettes in 6, 9 and 12 mm only, prints a maximum of two lines, and has no barcode function. For 19 mm tape look at the LabelManager 360D; for barcodes, the 420P or Executive 640CB.
Which tape does it use — D1 or LetraTag LT?
D1. The LabelManager range takes D1 cassettes; DYMO's LetraTag machines take LT cassettes, which are a different, non-interchangeable format. Make sure you buy D1 tape for this machine.
Singular Expert Insight
The 160 is honestly positioned: it is the cheapest way into DYMO D1 labelling and it behaves like it — two lines, 12 mm maximum, no memory, no barcodes, and you supply the batteries. For a drawer of kitchen jars or a home office that labels something once a month, that is the right amount of machine. The moment you find yourself repeating the same labels, wanting a third line or reaching for 19 mm tape, you have outgrown it: the LabelManager 210D+ adds a nine-label memory, the 280 adds USB and a rechargeable battery, and the 360D adds 19 mm tape. If you would rather have spare tape in the box, DYMO also sells a 160 value pack with three cassettes. For desktop and volume label printing see our

Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want the simplest and cheapest DYMO D1 label maker for occasional home or small-office labelling, and two lines on 6 to 12 mm tape is enough.
Skip it if
You need saved labels, 19 mm tape, three or more lines, barcodes, a PC connection, or a machine that arrives with batteries — the 160 has none of these.
Also consider
The DYMO LabelManager 160 value pack (2181012) if you want three tape cassettes included, the 210D+ for a nine-label memory, or the 360D for 19 mm tape.
